Mini Microscope comes with a protective case, a screwdriver to change batteries, and several slides to view. Microscope worked perfectly and it was really fun to view the slides and also other items like leaves or hair. This would be a great gift for approximately 7 years and up depending on maturity.
This mini micro is amazing. I was looking for something affordable since my child is homeschooled and enjoys science. The mini micro came with 5 slides which were so much fun to look at. We also looked at salt, material and our skin. My explorer can not wait to use it outside. The picture doesnt do it justice. The mini Micro is so clear in real life. Best thing I have purchased in a while.
Very pleased with this. However, like a regular microscope it can be a bit difficult to focus and get your specimen directly under the scope, does require some patience! I pretty much expected that. I gave it 5 stars because: 1. Once you get it focused, it is absolutely crystal clear. I got the focus and the zoom mixed up at first, the focus is near the bottom, zoom is near the top. A little practice makes perfect! 2. Uses 1 AAA battery (does not come with it). The compartment has a screw you need to remove, but a small screwdriver actually comes with it, and it was not difficult to open it. 3. Light is very bright. 4. It comes with 5 slides with specimens on them, which is nice for children, but no empty slides. However, I discovered it is much easier to see your own specimen and get it focused and directly under the scope if it is on the slide, and if it's one you don't want to keep you can simply set it on the slide to the side of the specimen it came with and view it that way. Otherwise, you might want to buy empty slides. 5. Zoom is as it says 60X - 120X and works well. 6. Could be difficult for a child to use for unless their specimen is something big enough so that getting the scope directly over it is not a challenge. 7. Seems sturdy. Comes with easy instructions, a bag to carry it in, and a cleaning cloth.
My 7 year old granson, had trouble learning how to focus this, but once we figured it out, he enjoys seeing things up really close. The included slides are so helpful and great to look at.
I bought this mini microscope for my kids and they love it. It's small and lightweight, so kids can carry it around and explore the microscopic world anytime, anywhere. And, it comes with five premade slides so kids can start watching right away.
the pre-made slides that come with this little microscope kit are interestingly gross - honey bee legs, mouse tail, fly mouth parts... these slides are real glass. There are no blank slides, so when you want to look at other things you just have to put the microscope up to it - it shows you in the directions what to do. Slides and microscope come in a cute small zip up case. In the case is even a mini screwdriver so you can unscrew the little section where the battery goes.
Good microscope. Didn't find it much use for anything but slides though, have to stay still and get it just right/flat surface to see anything. I suppose any microscope with good magnification might be that way. A good magnifying glass is better for exploring the outdoors I think.
I bought this for my granddaughters sixth birthday next month. My daughter and I took it out of the box, put in a battery and started looking at the enclosed slides. We both enjoyed looking through the microscope and seeing things up close. it's smaller than I thought it would be and very lightweight. it might be a little difficult for a six-year-old to use, but I think once they practice a little bit, it will be much easier. It's a great gift for a youngster that likes to look at nature. It takes an AA battery for the light, which is not included.
micrscope worked well. it was the slides that were the problem. they came chipped and pieces of glass shards falling out of case. so disappointed as my kids wanted to use them but cant.
My granddaughter took this outside to look at plants. Never could get it to come into focus. Not happy
