Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane Semi-Gloss Clear Finish, 1 Quart

I used this to protect a pine garden box and it was a great choice! it absorbed pretty quickly into the pine with it being pourous wood, but a handful of coats later it turned out so beautifully with the amber tint in it! highly recommend for any project

I've been using Minwax a long time and this is probably my favorite poly. I just refinished my mother in laws dining room table and chairs and four coats of this polyurethane should protect that table top for another 50 years!

I'm a fan of this product. I put on a coat, lightly sanded with 220 grit then put on a second coat and it is very good, nearly perfect. As others have stated, the odor is fairly obnoxious, especially the first coat on bare wood. My project is out in my shop so that's not an issue. It takes about a week to disappear. The spray can product is worse, might take two weeks. I can see coating an entire floor in a bedroom you may need a gas mask. The first night I could smell it from outside my shop after the doors were closed within about 10 feet. If this is an issue for you Minwax makes a water based Polycrylic which is almost odor free but I find it a bit more difficult to get good results especially on pine. The polyurethane is simpler to use in my experience.

I found this product to be easy to apply, it spread well and evenly. I was impressed with the quick dry time. I have used many different brands of polyurethane and this one had the lowest odor. The finish was beautiful! I am impressed with this product and its affordability.

This adds a nice protective coat to wood and gives a nice finished look to projects. Easy to use but don't rush! Long even strokes.

I specifically order this product in clear semi gloss finish but instead received warm semi gloss. The box it was delivered in was wet and smelt like the product was leaking. When I opened the box, the product can was damaged and looked like it had been thrown around. Very disappointed.

This is my third try after stripping 2 times. Humidity was under 49% with temp at 80 degrees. Left job at 11 am. Came back at 6 pm. Product is lacking enough dryers to preform as directed. Imt done with All Minwax products!

I am in the process of finishing cabinets, I have put 2 coats on them and am not happy at all. I am not getting the finish I am trying to achieve. Almost 2o years ago I used the same product or so I am being told from the store in which I purchased this product. I am using now the premium oil fast drying polyurethane warm semi gloss and before I used the fast-drying polyurethane superior durability clear semi- gloss. What I am trying to figure out has the product changed that much?
