ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO MY SON MADE A BEAUTIFUL DESK AND NOW SOME EDGES WERE SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR. WE TRIED A PERMANENT MARKER BUT THAT WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY SOLUTION. I RESEARCHED FURNITURE MARKERS AND ORDERED MINWAX BASED ON ALL THE POSITIVE REVIEWS. THE MARKER WAS EASY TO USE AND PROVIDED BEAUTIFUL RESULTS IN MINUTES.

Can't do what I do without them

BLZeebub November 13, 2018

I do a lot of trim work. High end stain-grade trim work. The Minwax Stain Markers are my saving grace. Every corner, miter, inside and out has one thing in common, the cut end. If you don't deal with those cut ends, they will surely show. The secret is to daub a little of the finish color on the cut ends BEFORE they're installed. Voila! No more base color of the wood showing through. Couldn't do what I do and get paid for it without Minwax's Stain Markers.

This stuff is great!

Dachsie Mom June 8, 2019

I have rescue dogs and they mark against everything. The stain on my cabinets and chair legs were starting to look pretty sad. I bought one of these to try and everything that I have touched up looks great! I'm going to need to buy a couple more because now I want to use them wherever there is damage.

Polyshade is a restorer's dream come true!

Mike@403 March 9, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm restoring our 1886 house and I am using Polyshade for all of my wood projects, plus a few that aren't wood! Our original woodwork is a dark amber cherry, and I was worried about matching it. I am using coffee Gel Stain for my first step, then going over it with Polyshade Mission Oak in the gloss finish. It matches perfectly! I've also used it on the 1886 cast iron fireplace mantle, as well as new polyurethane molding, I just painted them a matte light orange first. Again, spectacular results! I remember my grandpa always using Minwax products, saying that you just couldn't find better wood products; 50 years later, I'm telling my grandson the same thing!

Works great for small nicks & scratches!

Rachelle25 February 3, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't have high hopes for this pen because they typically look very obvious after application. This one actually worked amazingly well, but make sure to pay close attention to the coloring. The color i got went on a bit on the darker side, but I just let it sit and soak for a few minutes and took a soft cloth (one you don't care about) and kind of buffed the area to blend and slightly lighten the color. For small scratches, grudges, and nicks- this was fantastic! You couldn't tell you had used something like this for it's repair, by any means. Also it's worth noting that letting it dry for awhile is a good idea! With a larger area you may be able to tell a bit more but the cloth buffing also worked wonders. I would recommend!

Amazing color coverage

sherabbit36 January 6, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pen makes it so easy to just touch up a few spots as well as bigger areas. I used it on the door moldings that my cats scratched up, there was a lot of scratches, but the pen just glides the stain on, and the color coverage match is amazing, I'm so glad the color is perfect. I have the same color molding all over my house so this is super handy. Love it
