Love this. Connects to the phone easily, great picture, and it takes pictures and records video. It also allows you to label your pictures and videos which part of the body and which side of the body. We send videos to our doc and they call in a prescription for an ear infection within an hour and we don't have to step foot in a doctor's office.
The Mobi ear Otoscope Jr. is very hard to use. The app doesn't seem to work that well all the time. It is very hard to see the inside of the ear. Not sure if it is the app or camera. Pictures are even a little blurry. The app says I only have so much time left to use it. I guess that means I would have to pay to continue use it!
Image tries to auto direct so hard to know which way to move the scope to get a good look at toddlers ear tubes. I find really difficult to use. Also, because no way to take image from the otoscope you need a 2nd person to press the camera button since you need two hands to steady the image (ear/head and otoscope).
We found this hard to use in our baby as the plastic caps were a little big to get into his ears. The pictures were all very blurry and we found that it had a lag time where we would move the device ever so slightly to try to get a better view, and the picture wouldn't change, which made it very difficult to get a good picture of the ear drum. Despite all of this, we were able to get pictures that confirmed ear infection in both ears, we just had to take ~50 photos and they were all very blurry.
I bought this today, and the first time I turned it on and got everything connected, it worked just fine. I could see a clear picture. A few hours later, I went to use it again and the LEDs are not coming on. It still connects to my phone/wifi and shows picture, but it's pretty much useless without the built in lights. You can't see anything inside the ear without them. I've fully charged it, tried to “reset” it, and even restarted the app multiple times and disconnected from it. The instruction manual leaves much to the imagination as it doesn't even include troubleshooting steps for the LED issue or how to actually reset the device. Not to mention the actual device is so light and cheap feeling. Definitely not worth $30. Maybe $10-$15.
the app was difficult to set up. (i never was able to connect) perhaps this was faulty, but im not impressed. also the metal tip pokes beyond the otoscope cover. that is dangerous
This has a good picture camera if you can get it to work. It's very intermittent to connect to your phone. It only works when it feels like it, which is rare. I would not recommend buying it. It's just a waste of money. Good concept, but poor quality.
The camera was easy to set up worked well the first couple times of using it, but once it became dirty, it was impossible to clean. the picture became very fuzzy and you could barely see anything. Would not recommend.
Useless, they require 2.4 ghz to connect and if don't have they want us to check w service provider , seriously??!! Not time for this. Junk. It should JUST WORK
It worked great the first time we used it, and it never connected to my phone again. No matter what I did.
