Sturdy feeder pole

Louis February 11, 2026

This pole has fairly strong aluminum sections painted black. The best part of it is the easy installation. The bottom anchor is about a foot long with a pointed end for burying in the ground. You just hammer this into the ground. I used a block of wood to protect the metal from the hammer. Otherwise, you might bend or damage the aluminum. Then you just attach the entire pole and then the holder on top, and voila. It's done. Easy peasy. The top holder just fits onto the pole and then screws into the pole with a strong fit. Adjusting the height of this holder is easy. Just slide it to where you want it. I hung a 6 pound hopper style feeder on one side and a hummingbird feeder on the other side. I'm still waiting for birds to discover their new free meal. Maybe by tomorrow. I would not only buy this again. I just got finished buying another one.

Great pole for feeders

Kae March 17, 2025

crate pole for bird feeders as it's easy to put one of those clear plastic large squirrel baffles on and secure before putting the top pieces on. May be finally successful outsmarting the squirrels to not be able to get the to the bird feeders. Assembly was easy and I bang some small narrow rocks in around the base in the ground to give an extra security from wobbling if it rained or something. I even put part of one of those solar lights in the top pole opening and it looks really great at night. oh yes ignore the slinky because that was easy for the squirrels to figure out by gripping between it.

Good product - Get a rubber mallot

Allison April 19, 2025

You will need a mallot to help you but the flat headed triangular part into soft dirt. Ours is falling out of the ground, so we're still trying to figure out the best way to keep it in the ground. It's super tall and really great for outdoor decor if you have a lifted patio.

Sturdy and Attractive

ProlificReader December 18, 2020

The Stokes Select 78” Bird Feeder Pole has two hangers that can be attached at the top of the pole or farther down if so desired. The pole came in 5 pieces. The first piece was a section of pole that had to be buried in the ground. To do this, I had to thoroughly soak with water the area of the ground I was placing my pole. The piece to bury was spiked at the bottom. I shoved this piece into the ground about an inch. Then directions called for me to place a two by four on top of the spiked pole, then hammer it with a rubber mallet until it was completely buried. I got it most of the way in the ground, but I couldn't get the last inch in. Then I connected each of the next three pole pieces into the previous one. When I was done with that, I placed the hanger at the top of the pole and tightened it with a hand twist screw that pushes into the pole. I haven't gotten my bird feeders to hang from it yet, but I pushed and pulled on the pole and hanger, and the pole only moves around slightly because the pole piece is a bit skinnier than the spiked piece. The spiked piece did not move in the ground at all. So, I would say it is fairly sturdy, and I like the way it looks in my yard.

Instructions could be better. I put the wrong pole in first and so the weight of the bird house warped the pole. I did take it down and switched the poles around but now I have a leaning pole. But it has been up for weeks and is holding up and it works. Just needs better instructions.

Can Be Set to Variable height.

Anonymous January 28, 2026

The post requires easy assembly. Feeder holder arms are one unit with a thmbscrew. The upright has metal pieces that slide together, and a gound anchor. The anchor is placed into the ground and then the poles are inserted. My only complaint is that the pole to gound stake fit is a bit loose , so there is a bit of resulting wobble. Not bad for the money, though.

Good bird feeder pole.

Den May 16, 2025

It was bought for spare parts. A large animal had climbed up 10 feet onto the deck to get at the bird food and bent one tube segment about 90 degrees. I gave it 4 stars because the cap in the top pole was broken, maybe during shipping.. I plugged the top with 5-minute epoxy and the spare segments work fine.

Just not what it should be. Metal is thin, hanging hook is thin and not very durable. You can't hang anything with much weight it just can't support the weight. Also had to attach it to the side of the porch so it wouldnt lean. Not worth the money.

Not worth the money.

CAROL March 1, 2026

Bird feeder pole is heavy and the stake part does not go into ground easily, it's not sharp enough to go into ground. I did not use all of the pole parts, as it was too heavy and fell over. I don't recommend this product.

Cheap and flimsy

Fred May 11, 2023

This bird feeder pole will not support the feeders as pictured in the ad. I use two small feeders of the same weight for tiny birds, or it falls over. Also, it must be near a building since it cannot stand up to wind in an open area. I use mine to support small hummingbird feeders in a sheltered location near my house.
