Mossy Oak Mesquite Jerky Seasoning, 2 oz

I was looking up recipes to find info on curing and seasoning venison for making jerky because my first attempt on my own did not turn out good. Then a neighbor told me about this kit including seasonings and cute. What a game changer, no more going back to my own ways. This was so easy, and the jerky turned out tasty! The kits come in different flavors. I started with the mesquite and hickory. Both very good. Will try other flavors in the future.

Mossy Oak Gamekeeper Mesquite Jerky Seasoning, had a lot of pluses. It was cheap, easy to use, and the instructions were easy to follow. But I found the flavor to be more than a bit bland. The only flavor I could taste was a bit of cracked pepper. Adding your own seasoning is much advised, in order to make a great tasting jerky.

I have never had a jerky mix that water was added. Aren't you trying to dry it out? Plus, it is basically tasteless! Just tastes like salty ground beef. Nothing like the other mixes I have used. I was making it as a gift for my son. Very disappointing.
