MyMini 550-Watt Street Taco Quesadilla Maker

my kid loves cheese crisps and quesadillas, so I got him this and he's been making his own without asking for help. I loved this retro device and had the standard size one in my college dorm 20 years ago. So glad they brought this back and in mini form is a bonus! Super easy to use!

I did not know and there's no indication that when it's plugged in it stays on. This was on a whole day before I realized it was hot I was wondering why it was hot then it dawned on me that there's no on/off switch. But it is a good device I will say that.

Ok so this is adorable. And seems convenient. However, a small tortilla shell that should fit is too big. I had to cut the ends off for it to fit and cook. It dropped grease. And took quite a bit to heat all the way through. I really wanted to live this. But it honestly isn't worth it.

Great price for this “mini” cooker so I bought as a Christmas gift for 11 year old granddaughter's convenience in her own quick snack or lunch. She was so excited and wanted to try it immediately. The item description says it's a street taco maker. Box size is equally misleading. I bought mini flour tortillas ahead. Every tortilla at Walmart regardless of brand was 6” in diameter for both “taco” or “street taco” labels. When the gift was opened, much to my surprise it was too small for the 6” tortilla! Edges extend beyond the cooking surface preventing the tortilla to be completely contained under the closed lid. Despite hinged lid having a double latch to accommodate a thicker filling, the cheese oozes out into the grooved gap around the cooking plate which is very difficult to clean up afterwards . Granddaughter enjoyed making them; but clean up is a big deterrent to using this mini maker over a pan on the electric stovetop.

This MyMini quesadilla maker works really well and heats up quickly, making crispy, melty quesadillas every time. The 550 watts power is perfect for fast cooking, and cleanup is easy thanks to the compact design. However, it's better suited for mini tortillas rather than average-sized ones, so keep that in mind when buying. If you mostly use smaller tortillas, this is a fantastic little appliance. Overall, a solid choice for quick snacks or small meals!

Shipping was fast. I tried to fix a chicken quesadilla with cheese and could hardley put any chicken in the quesadilla. I had to force it to close. Once closed it cooks good. So if you want it for anything other than cheese I would not get it. I really wanted a little quesadilla maker too.

Was disappointed on how tiny it is, haven't used it yet because honestly I'm probably going to return this item. The sandwich mini was a decent size, but this one is a joke! I don't even think a mini tortilla shell would fit! I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone due to how incredibly tiny it is. The company should be ashamed, what were they thinking!

I'm surprised by all the good reviews on this product. It heats up nicely, seems to heat evenly, but unfortunately, it doesn't hold enough to make it a worthwhile cooking experience. The recipe book that comes with it says to use 3T of finely grated cheese, 1/3C of salsa, and some guac or small chunks of avocado. I made the first one according to the recipe, though I did drain my salsa, and didn't add avocado because I could already see there was going to be a problem. With that amount of ingredients, this thing won't close! I managed to get it to the first position, and let it cook. Recipe says 3-7 minutes. At 1.5 minutes cheese was pouring out of the tortillas, and the longest I could cook it was 2 minutes. What I ended up with was a basically empty pair of tortillas that were partially sealed together. And a LOT Of mess on my countertop. Second try I only used 1.5T of cheese, 2t of salsa... and I STILL couldn't close the iron completely, so again everything oozed out onto my countertop. The real problem is that while the inside plates are VERY easy to clean, not so the outside plastic or under the plates on the edges of the machine. Cleaning that little machine took me over an hour, using toothpicks, dish clothes soaked in hot water (but wrung out, it IS an electric appliance), scrubby sponges, vinegar (thought it might help with clean up, it didn't). And because of the mess it makes, I'll probably never use it again. A total waste of money in my book!

There's no room for any filling Using 2 of the little street size flour taco, one thin slice of deli cheese and one thin slice of deli ham cut to the size of the taco, unable to close the lid what you must click into place and then when you try to un click it, you get burnt by steam because you weren't able to shut it to start with and I suppose you would get burnt even if you had shut it. In my opinion, this is a dangerous appliance.

its too small for a store bought small tortilla - maybe if you make the tortilla yourself making the dough fit that way . I have a small size waffle maker I use often - but. this item is not a good size for tortillas. so I will not recommend it .
