Even with it being cold out it is still

rowansmom1127 November 7, 2014

I received this to review all opinions are my own. Rowan loves exploring the world around him. When we first started homeschooling it became clear he is a math and science nut. He loves hands on activities when it comes to learning. Now we don't live near the coat but still have water ways that give ton of ways to learn outside in our area. Even with it being cold out it is still great to get them into their world around them. Even if it water. With the aquascope you can do just that. It comes with a journal for your child to write down everything from the temp. to what they saw. Science journaling was something we started right away. I had him drawing what he saw before he was able to write. Now he is writing and the journal that comes with the aquascope has a great pre printed outline. It made it much easier to come up with his scientific observations about what he saw living under the water. It has room for them to write. Great way to go back later on to have them talk about and research through books or online. Aquascope is safe way for your child to explore any waterway without getting wet. Great for year around. It is also a great gift for those sea going kids. Think of all the wonders under the water to see. Rowan loves the aquascope. It is easy to use light. Don't worry if the water is dark it comes with an led light to light up the water to see better. We were completely empressed with it. It is one tough toy too. I recommend this for all family rather you are homeschooling or not. Here is more on it: The Big Idea Head to the shore and explore! With the aquascope, you don't even have to get wet to explore the wonders of life underwater. AquaScope has 5x magnification to focus closely on observations. You can even light up your subject thanks to built-in LED lights. Then, use the attached thermometer strip to gauge and document the water temperature. This underwater telescope for kids also comes with an activity journal packed with fun science experiments. Shh...They're Learning! Encourages self-discovery Motivates learners to observe water life that can't be seen with human eyes Conduct safe and fun science experiments/activities Cut to the Chase Telescoping underwater viewer with 5x magnification See underwater without getting wet Built-in LED flashlight and thermometer strip 18-Page activity journal Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included)

High price, but if my baby is happy it's worth it.

Grandma December 13, 2022

I got this for my precious granddaughter as a Christmas gift, she loves to use a magnifying glass so she should love this. We have yet to try it out, but I was informed before using it make sure you read ALL the instructions. I do have to say it was a little pricey though.

Exciting To My Won

MomStart August 27, 2013

We recently took it to Florida with us when we went on vacation and we used it in the pool at the house and the pool at the beach house and had so much fun. I can't wait to take it to a pond where we can actually test out the light feature on it. We didn't follow the directions about making sure it stays at a certain level. It's not completely water proof and it filled up with water. Miles was upset and said that it was broken. I checked it out and couldn't see anything through it and then did everything I could do to get the water out of it. If you sort of plunge it open and shut the water will come out and then you can use it again. From that point on we have made sure that it doesn't take a swim on it's own in the water. It's a great educational tool when you take it to a lake ocean or pond because there you'll actually be able to see the ground and it's inhabitants, which is where the journal will come in handy.
