NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Microscope for Kids - STEM Kit with an Easy-to-Use Kids Microscope, Up to 400x Zoom, Blank and Prepared Slides, Rock and Mineral Specimens, and More, Great Science Project Set The following is a review for the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Microscope for Kids - STEM Kit with an Easy-to-Use Kids Microscope, Up to 400x Zoom, Blank and Prepared Slides, Rock and Mineral Specimens, and More, Great Science Project Set. This takes me back to being a little kid and my sister got her chemistry set one year for Christmas. It came with a ton of little chemicals as well as a microscope and slides. We spent hours looking through the microscope and combining different chemicals together to see what would happen. Back then of course the microscope had to be plugged in like the ones at schools. This microscope uses batteries for the light to work. The kids spent a long time looking at pennies and the other slides that came with it to see what they looked like magnified under the microscope. They even prepared one of the slides with a drop pf water from the sink. They were so fascinated to see what all was in a little drop of water. I think this is a great educational device that all kids should have to open up a new world for them.
I just recently received a National Geographic Explorer Series Microscope. This little microscope is designed for children Ages six and up. But i must warn you that adults will love to use it also. Included in the box is a complete laboratory kit with about 35 pieces. Included are slides, labels, tweezers, pencil and even a few rocks for them to examine. When I first took a look at it I was thinking that it may slip off the table and break easily, but it has rubber non slip legs to keep that from happening. The magnification of the microscope is 40X, 100X, or 400X. This is acquired by the three rotating lenses. There are two LED lights that illuminate the samples from under or above the specimens. We started out by examining a human hair. The kids were so amazed that they were looking around to find other items to take a look at. Included in the kit is a lab guide that I would call an activity booklet. It explains different things to look at and has stickers with secret words on them that can only be seen under the microscope. That was an interesting activity. So, for the price point, the quality, the learning, and the fun I would recommend the National Geographic Microscope Kit.
National Geographic Microscope for Kids is a super fun activity for younger kids to do. The microscope is easy to use it has several levels of magnification to ensure a great view of the specimen. The kit comes with everything you need to get started and has easy to following instructions. Yes, this is a complete Science Experiment kit, having an adult to assist on the first try if needed can be helpful. Love it!
My 6 year old loves this. It comes with premade slides, and a book to check off items you see. He is becoming familiar with the knobs and is even asking for us to put things we find in “nature” to see what they look like magnified.
I ordered a different brand and returned it. I wanted to start off with a less expensive model, but not a cheap one that didn't show a single cell! For 10 more$ this is quality and a fantastic interdiction to biology/ science . I highly recommend this product. It is sturdy, great directions, and fun for my child and I to learn together.
This was a birthday gift for my 7 year old Great gran son. This is what he said to me. Granma I have wanted this all my LIFE. Is that cute or what. I was so proud of that. Statement I bought another one for another Great grandson. For Christmas. Haven't got it yet. Good job Walmart
This was a gift for my grandson for his homeschooling, and they said it's been great, very educational.
We got this National Geographic microscope for my daughter she's very curious about what things look like how they're made. Disco cam with several pre-made slides that she can look at it comes with a few rocks and crystals which is great. It comes with a separate little dish where you can put additional things in that you want to check out under the microscope. It also has additional blank slides where you can you can create your own. There's two light versions high and low beam on the Microscope. It's easy to use and easy to focus about my daughters picking up everything now that can fit to try to examine it under the microscope. It's a good value it is a kids microscope so it's not scientifically high-powered but it works. It keeps my kids entertained and they're enjoying using it while learning something at the same time. I would recommend this to anyone to purchase it's a toy but it's a real toy where you can study real science.
This microscope by National Geographic is for kids ages 6 and over. Surprisingly it's a good entry level beginners microscope with a theme towards STEM for kids to get them curious and interested into science earlier. There's an instruction guide as well as a lab guide to help get started and familiar with some of the features and items included. It comes with an assortment of about 35 pieces like tweezers, pipette, specimen dish etc. There are samples to use to get started and get comfortable using it. There are three zoom settings such as 40x,100x, and 400x to see objects up close, and a focus knob on the side to adjust for clarity. There's a light built in which makes it easier to see as well. Batteries are not included which is annoying nowadays and should be included especially for kids items to get going right away. Kids are curious and putting all sorts under the microscope already. Hair samples and food bits have already been scrutinized. Overall, this is great for kids to learn about the tiny things that we can't normally see without any assistance. Our kids are loving being under the microscope lately. Highly recommended.
This little microscope set is very cute but be advised it is definitely made for small children. The age is six and up as listed on the box, everything in there is plastic. The microscope is all plastic, the slides are plastic, the tweezers are plastic, everything is plastic. It does come with several small crystal like rocks that they can look at through the microscope and there is a little storage container that sits between the microscope legs where they can keep their slides. It's very cute and a very cute little educational toy For a child starting out and interested in science, I even semi-enjoyed playing with it myself. But again it is not very much geared towards older children and it's not a very high-quality microscope so just keep that in mind that it is very much just a toy. I would recommend this for small children to learn and play with.
