Telescope was simple to assemble, all parts included, and everything fit together perfectly. First night I was able to easily locate Saturn via the viewfinder and observe its rings. I think people who claim this easy starter scope didn't work must've forgotten to take the lens caps off! My only complaint is that had to crouch down to look into it. Tall enough for kids but not for adults. Seems like this is an excellent telescope for the price!
Its a good telescope for the money. With an app, i found venus, jupiter, and mars. With this beginner scope the planets look like dots but if you focus right you can see they have color vs a star. The tripod is good but dont over tighten the handle or it will constantly drift down. The first one i bought had been used and overtightened and didn't work right.
purchased this for our grandson. Unfortunately, the item had been returned and placed back on the shelf. Fortunately, all items were in the box, and our grandson enjoyed this telescope.
Nice entry-level telescope. Great for teaching kids, viewing the moon, and anything else you would probably want to either go to an astronomy club or get a $500 one with a solid tripod. Details below... Can be used to see planets and the moon. Other objects in the city are too faint and distant. May be more effective in the suburbs. My more powerful telescope (also 5x) can see more things in the city. So, I guess lesson learned. Shakes. Couldn't figure out how to use the Barlow magnifier, so I just used the 16x and 40x lenses. With those... very simple setup and use. I also like the brand, so happy to support them encouraging science and creativity.
The telescope is decent. For the price it's what you'd expect. I like how you can take pictures on your phone. I'd recommend purchasing from a different store. Walmart ALWAYS SENDS ME USED PRODUCTS! The bags were open. Instructions and telescope scope looked used. Damaged box as if it came off the set of Cast Away. They have too much competition to be sending USED products.
When I received this telescope, the box was opened the box looks like it's been used, and it was provided in a plastic wrap. There are magnifications refractors. I'm concerned that what I have is a broken telescope.
Good for little kids but not much else. The cell phone mount doesn't work well with modern multi camera phones.
Not worth it. You could see the stars but only as good as if you were using a good set of binoculars. Spend a little more and get a decent telescope. This isn't it.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with some of the other buyers and say this item is very much below par. I purchased two in case I ran into an issue with one, but they both were missing parts and actually had different parts. Nothing could be seen in either one. Both appeared to have been open and used before, the packaging was different in each one . One of them looked like someone replaced some of the parts with their own pieces and even took parts that were already together apart and made their own rinky dink contraption. Even the screws were different. A huge disappointment honestly. I'm likely to just spend a few hundred to get one. I think might be guaranteed to service purpose.
Do not waste your money!! I do not recommend this at all. It's very cheaply made and we couldn't get it to focus on anything,. We spent hours troubleshooting and watching videos trying to see anything with no luck. We ended up returning this the next day and will be investing in getting a better quality telescope for our family. Very disappointing for kiddos who wanted to see at least something in the sky.
