NESCO Compact Vacuum Sealer Machine - Powerful Food Sealing With Moist and Pulse Modes, Accessory Port, Includes 10 Pre-Cut Bags, VS-09

I bought this on clearance at my local Walmart. It was reviewed by America's test kitchen in 2023 or 24 and was rated the highest by their testers. It's the Nesco vacuum sealer. Buy one if you see it.

This is a great tool. I use it to freeze my catfish my salmon even my ginger. It works wonders. I'm glad I bought it.

I like that it was Compact and lightweight. but it was also made well and very sturdy. I'm very satisfied with this purchase I got a good deal on it from Walmart.

This is the second one of these I purchased as I love how well it seals and keeps working. I vacuum pack quite a bit and get two of these going at a time.

As advertised, works well.

We purchased this after another brand of sealer we'd had for years failed. It works great; easy to use, works much more consistently than the old one we had. To me, I much prefer the ergonomics to our old machine. We've used it to vac seal everything from coffee to bacon.

This is a very good vacuum sealer. It has a small footprint, it's made to be durable, has excellent suction and seal, and it's quiet. Much quieter than my old Foodsaver. There are few downsides for me. I miss the bag storage and cutter bar I had in my Foodsaver. There is a little cutter that stores inside the Nesco and it does a perfect cut. I'm just completely unable to cut a straight line on my own. Another thing I didn't like is that it has a canister port, but they don't sell the adapter tube. You have to buy a third party adapter which isn't as easy as it sounds. I looked on Amazon and thought I found a few, but then in reviews it said it didn't work for the Nesco. Neither of these were deal breakers for me, though. I'm sure if I looked hard enough, I would eventually find an adapter and it's not the manufacturer's fault that I can't cut a straight line. I would absolutely recommend this sealer to someone that buys meat in bulk because there's a great sale. Or someone that has a home garden. This will do a fantastic job. The reason it didn't work for us is because my husband is a hunter and we process our own meat. This means that I have a LOT of meat to bag and a small window of time to do it. The Nesco stopped vacuuming after 8 bags. I stopped for 5 minutes and it sealed 2 more, waited another 5 minutes and it was done. 20 minutes later I could do a few more. I went online to see if this was normal and for both the VS09 and the V12 models, they recommend waiting one minute between sealings. My fault for not researching this better when choosing this sealer. When you have 40lbs of meat to freeze, that would take forever to finish. So for this reason only, I returned my Nesco and, after careful research, got a Potane that can do up to 100 bags at a time.

I absolutely HATE the hand held cutter. To me that is a deal breaker !!

When I ordered this unit standing in the store, to get the online price, I ordered the top tier Nesco, i swear they sold me the cheaper model.

Did not vacuum the bags it only sealed them
