FoodSaver FM2000 Vacuum Sealer Starter System with Bags

I bought this product to vacuum seal crab cakes I made. As the crabmeat is very expensive I wanted to be sure the cakes were properly stored in the freezer. The instructions were good that came with it but I also viewed some online videos to be sure I was doing things properly. I think this is a good product with many uses in the kitchen.

My old FoodSaver died on me after thousands of bags sealed. I replaced it with this new model and I'm sealing bags again! I just sealed 10 pounds of cold cuts for the freezer. It's powerful suction seals the bags faster than the old one. FoodSaver is AWESOME!! TWO THUMBS UP and 10 STARS!!

This is like the fourth or fifth one of these machines that I had to buy. I guess I need to slow down when using the machine. Because each time before the heating element stopped working And had to throw them away. Yes, I need to let it cool down a little bit in between each seiling of the bags.

I like the size of this sealer. The only thing I do not like about it, you have to cut your own bags with a pair of scissors. It doesn't hold or dispense the film for making bags. I do like that smaller size, but it is a little time consuming to have to make the bags in this manner. I have actually kept my older sealer just to use the ability to measure and cut the bags with it.

Replaced a 15-yr old FoodSaver. New one is quicker, quieter, and takes up less counterspace. These machines literally pay for themselves. I've not thrown a stale bag of chips since I got one. Don't vacuum, just put the open bag on the heat strip, lock it and press 'seal'. Chips stay fresh much longer. Ditto with all kinds of food bags. Vac pack cheese and you'll never lose any. make sure you dry off ur meat. like really dry, cause it will not seal if any liquid get where it seals. others don't have this problem. this one does

If you are going to be sealing more that a few bags at a time, this may not be the sealer for you. It heats up fast, but has trouble getting the bags completely sealed. We have went through a couple of these cheaper sealers, each promising to be better than the other brands only to let us down. We package meat that is often wet, and this sealer will have difficult time getting the liquid out. If the liquid is not out then the bag will not seal.

It's good, but not as fantastic as the model I had. Although I trust the name brand, the new model does not vacuum and seal as well as my previous model. Often I will find air in my bag right after vacuuming and sealing. I never saw that with my first model.

This was a very horrible food saver. I vacuumed some ground beef and it did not seal correctly. I tried a meat very soft and it did not all the air out. Also I used FoodSaver vacuum bags and onced sealed, very poorly, the seal was not melted enough to keep the seal. Very disappointed and I returned it...

I recommend not purchasing anything from Walmart!!!! The item I ordered never came. The much cheaper model did, and it was filthy! The box appeared to be the correct one and even included the proper manual, but the item itself was not the right one. Still havent received the right item that I paid a lot of money for.
