I ordered the "compost wizard dueling tumbler" composter for my yard from Wal-Mart several months ago and was just using a large bowl to collect kitchen scraps for it. After a while I began looking for a more decorative container. I found this product and ordered it site-to-store. It arrived quickly and I am very happy with it. The container holds a decent amount of scraps, looks good on the counter, is easy to carry and the large opening makes it convenient to dump the content into the composter. This should not be used to compost in, just to collect scraps for a larger pile outside, or maybe a worm composter in your house. If that is what you are looking for, I would highly recommend this item.

works great. I use it ti hold my scraps until I bring them to the outdoor compost bin.

Compact and tidy. Love the bright white color and the charcoal filter at the top. Keeps bugs out and traps any odors in. I cannot smell a thing from this! Holds about a week's worth of scraps, etc.

This is a nice looking way to keep my kitchen scraps for composting. Just the right size and no smells so far, either. The handle pops on and off, not permanently attached to the crock. I wish it was, so I didn't have to put it back on so often as it slips off. Not enough of a hassle to prevent me from liking this crock however. Would be nice in other colors, too.

Handle was super tight. I had to get someone stronger than me to loosen it. It's better, but it should be looser

My stainless steel compost pot got a hole in it, Yuck. So I was looking for a new one. I thought ceramic would hold up better. I was pleased with the quality and the color is fantastic, just like the picture. Ithe doesn't seem to hold as much as my old one, but that is good, I will take the scraps to the composer more often. It seems to hold the smell in well too. I have not emptied yet, and am a wee bit concerned about the lip around the top edge and getting that clean.

I was very happy with this cute Compost Crock...for three days! It looks good, and the simple little filter in the lid worked well. Then, while chopping vegetables, I lifted the little button on the lid to discard some of the vegetable waste. The tiny button slipped out of my damp fingers, the lid dropped about an inch onto the crock and broke into three pieces. I hate dissing on such a lovely product, but in my opinion this ceramic pot is too delicate for a bin that is going to be used daily with fingers that are going to be slippery from processing food. A bigger knob would certainly help, especially if it had a rubber grip. A plastic contact seal between the crock and the lid would have likely abated my disaster, also. I am going to look for a stainless steel alternative which just won't have the charm, but will be more practical for a busy kitchen.

Cosmetically is perfect..looks great on the counter but it draws the fruit flies .. had to return it. Sorry . High hopes.

Ordered this item on May 24th. Was not what we wanted. I initiated a return the first of June. As of today June 22 I am still waiting for the return info, label and instructions from VirVentures. Simple return should not be so complicated or drawn out. Walmart customers take note!
