NOW Foods Psyllium Husks Whole, 24 Ounce

I love this product, no artificial ingredients in it! it is just the psyllium husk. I brought many other products, but I refuse to go back... this is the one! In an 8 ounce glass of water, you mix one to two tablespoons of mixture, and quickly stir. Drink immediately, and follow with an 8oz glass of water. Simple procedure renders great results in the morning. The psyllium is growing in the tummy because of the water we consume. It gives you a feeling of slight bloating, but that soon goes away. Wonderful product!

I mix a scoop of these with an egg and few tablespoons water and sweet n low and McCormick cake batter flavor every day . I will continue to order because I've noticed a huge difference in digestive health.

So you've decided to get more soluble fiber in your life! Good move! (Get it?) Psyllium husk provides a lot of fiber in a small serving. So small, it seems you should need more than just 2 level tablespoons. Honestly that's a lot and you should work up to this serving size. Start with one tablespoon (or even less) because this bulks up quickly in liquid. Although its nearly tasteless, I find it a little difficult to just drink it down with water because it gets SO bulky. Other options include mixing it with yogurt, cottage cheese, smoothies, oatmeal or pretty much anything that has some liquid. Be sure to drink more water as you increase your fiber intake-it's really important to keep fiber moving smoothly through your system. Without enough fluids, you risk a great deal of intestinal discomfort. (Ask me how I know.) This is a great way to add more fiber to your eating plan (let's stop using the word diet) and I'm happy I found it.

It smells a bit funny when you first open the container, but after opening it a few times it no longer smells. This product does not mix well in liquid. It basically sits on top of it like leaves in a pond. That being said, I have been using it twice a day for about two weeks, and it has helped me stay regular better than Metamucil ever did. I also have less gas and bloating than I do with Metamucil. I add 1 tablespoon to about 1 oz orange juice with 4 oz water (mostly water so fewer calories), stir it a little, and chug it down quickly. It leaves a residue on the inside of my cup, but I rinse the sides of the cup with a little more water and drink that too. Then I wipe out the inside of the cup and the spoon with a paper towel. After first trying this product, I figured I'd just grin and bear it and use up the container so as not to be wasteful. But now I plan to purchase it again.

I stopped using this in favor of their psyllium powder which I think is better because it dissolves better in water with aBonsenkitchen milk frother

I paid a substantial amount for this item, waited weeks for it, and haven't received it. I've requested a refund or replacement and was only told to go check my post office, where it obviously isn't. This is a pretty expensive product for there to be no resolution. I'm only rating the product one star because I'm unable to try it. Had I known it wasn't sold by Walmart, I wouldn't have purchased.
