NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette, Brights, 0.32 oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only started using makeup in 2016 so when I finally decided to buy myself a nicer eyeshadow palette (that is not considered drugstore) I wanted a palette that I could use to play with color. After a few weeks of searching the internet and weighing out price and color range I decided the Ultimate Brights palette would be a good choice and I am glad that I purchased this!

In seasonal coloring, I am a Clear Winter: I have high contrast between my hair and eyes, cool, pink-ish skin, and light hazel eyes that have both blue and gold. I have been searching a long time for an eyeshadow palette that is not orange/bronze/red toned, but it's hard to find! This is it. :) Good pigment, easy to blend, and very flattering.

I think the colors are just neat! Its a really well put together palette but i think that theyre maybe not as super pigmented as i thought; I dont really mind too much though as a beginner makeup user its really helpful to build my colors up and with something so drastically pigmented i might pick too much up and destroy the look, so, i personally find this peachy ❤️

Bought this due to the vibrancy of the colours. Used a few shades already and pigment is really good. Only colour I felt let it down was the yellow. It was more a white/yellow. Had to build it up a good bit. Love this palette though - Good mix of colours. X

This palette is just absolutely stunning. The colours can be used both wet or dry and are not chalky! The lighter pastels apply beautiful when wet and the eyeshadows dry back to their original state after being used wet. This palette is great for Summer but also very pretty during other seasons. The best part is the eyeshadows can be used as eyeliner while wet too! :) Happy Shopping!

I ordered the nyx bright warm neutral palette online. I wanted to get matte transition shades for contouring in the crease area. I wanted the option of selecting transition shade from a single palette rather than having to open different palettes when I m on the go. This palette has 9 different matte transition shades from light to medium to dark, good for any skin tone. I was also quite impressed with their 7 shimmery colors which can be used either wet or dry on eyelids and defining the brow bone. I usually tend to use the darker colors (kind of burgandy) in the crease and use nyx lid lingerie in New Romance on the eyelid and it looks great all day long even without a primer!!

I'm very new to using bright eyeshadows so I decided to buy a drugstore one first, just to test them out and to see if they would suit me. There is a range of colour selection. A few of the shadows are decently pigmented, but some aren't as pigmented as the others. However, the ones that aren't that pigmented can be fixed easily with a makeup setting spray and an eyeshadow primer, so it can still be used. It's nice for Pride eyeshadow looks or just a fun eyeshadow look when I want to wear something more out there. It has helped me be more brave and experimental with my makeup.

Below I have listed my personal pros and cons, but overall the cost for the product is reasonable and the quality is really good for the price point. To me this is definitely a staple palette, and my current go-to. Pros: Perfect mixture of warm and cool tones, as well as mattes and shimmers Great range of undertones in the lighter shades Very buildable Lighter browns show up and are not washed-out on my skin Cons: Glitters are not pigmented enough for my liking, possibly better with a wet brush Ideally the formulation could be a little more smooth/buttery Despite my semi-cons, I still highly recommend this palette if you are a matte/neutrals lover like myself.

I bought this because I wanted to see if I enjoyed the warm shades and I do but I don't find I'm using the palette as much as I thought I would. The shimmery shades are hard to differentiate when blending on the eye, and the mattes can get patchy if you don't fully set your primer with a powder. Will be good to create different looks, but it'll take some work.

I was upset to learn upon arrival of the product that this palette, which is clearly marketed as eyeshadow, has three different colors of "pressed powder" that the packaging states cannot be used around the eyes. This is not noted anywhere on the website. As a first-time purchaser of NYX I feel duped by this blatantly false advertising. I mean ... who markets an eyeshadow palette where three of the colours can't be used as eyeshadow?
