NYX Professional Makeup Worth the Hype Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara, Black

I was lucky enough to be selected to try this mascara for free but the opinions are all mine. I have tried a lot of mascaras over the years that make a lot of claims. I went into this review with an open mind but secretly hoping it would do what it said it would and I was not disappointed. The formula of the mascara coats your lashes evenly, the applicator is on the larger size but does not get in the way of getting the inside corner or the bottom lashes which is where I have the most trouble. Even the smell was pleasant. I saw a huge difference in my lashes after just one coat but for super long and lushes lashes I wanted to do two. It dries quickly and there isn't a lot of flaking. Overall I believe this mascara is worth more than the hype and would make a great addition to your make up routine.

While there were a few things about this mascara that could be improved, you absolutely cannot argue with results. The results were stunning to say the least, as you can see from looking at my pictures (one coat of mascara on natural lashes). This is now hands-down my new fave mascara. Let's get into the nitty-gritty. Negatives, unfortunately it is not waterproof and I really prefer waterproof mascara. Another thing you want to be aware of is that it is very difficult to apply without smudging, so do apply it carefully and you shouldn't have any problems. Other than that, I love everything about this mascara. After only one coat, my lashes has a massive difference. I have quite long lashes naturally, but they have blonde tips and so don't often look long, but 'Worth the Hype' lengthened them even beyond that and left them looking lush, long and thick, without leaving them clumpy or uncomfortable feeling. This was without any curling, fake lashes or any extras, I can only imagine how much better it would look with those! I applied it early and it lasts well throughout the day. When applying it will smudge very easily at first (so take care), but after five minutes if you rub it with your hand, smudging is very minimal, so it's quite hard-wearing. It doesn't have that terrible chemical smell some mascara's have and it removes easily with micellar water or gentle makeup remover. My lashes look absolutely incredible with this on, so I'll definitely be buying it again!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This mascara does it all! I can honestly say that this mascara both lengthens and gives my eyelashes lots of volume, and it's so easy to apply. One coat gives my lashes a nice natural look that looks good all day. Applying a second and third coat really makes my lashes look amazing, perfect for a evening out. The brush is shaped for getting all my short eyelashes coated. The formula doesn't bother my eyes when I'm wearing my contact lenses. This is the only mascara I can use that doesnt burn my eyes. Even tried the more expensive hypoallergenic ones and they still burned my eyes.

I have thin short lashes. This is one of the best mascaras I've ever used. I cannot be without it! Fabulous volume and length!

I applied two coats on my lashes. It coated my lashes nicely and was very black which is two things I look for in a mascara but I didn't get the thickening and lengthening on my lashes that I was expecting. The second time however I waited a little longer between coats and I found that after three coats I got the thick long lashes I was expecting. Another pro was that because of the thinner formula my lashes stayed soft and it didn't flake off by midday. Although it takes a little more effort (time) I will continue to use it and will purchase again.

I received this mascara for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I was very pleased with how quickly my shipment came first and foremost. It was also packaged beautifully. The first time I tried it out, I did not use primer as I usually would. I did find it less dramatic but it did a good job. Over the next few days, I used it as I normally would with a primer application first and was so happy. The mascara goes on smooth and is buildable. The wand is a little large but I was able to work with it to get the dramatic lashes that I love. Overall, I'd recommend this; for the price point, it's good.

I really liked the old style brush with all the dense brisles. I prefer a bolder look so i appled two coats to the left side as shown in the picture. It's very comparable to some of the higher end brands. I found it slightly difficult to apply it neatly on the bottom lashes which is why I gave it 4 starts. It comes off easily with micellar water and does what it claims to do! I would definitely recommend at this price point!

I really like this mascara. After all the positive reviews I decided to try it. This was my first time using it and I always try new mascaras at home when I have no where to be so that way I won't be embarrassed by any negative effects and/or affects. Things I loved about it: very easy to apply, no clumps; even after 3 layers, it didn't flake, lasted all day, and easily comes off. I loved the initial look of it after it dried. There was volume and length. The one thing I did not care for: I have naturally semi long lashes and for some reason there are a few volumizing and lengthening mascaras that I have tried and after drying make my lashes droop. This one did that but not as bad as others. So that's why 4 stars. As I said, I really like it. I'm keeping it to use when I'm home hopefully it will get better with the under curl? Maybe. We'll see

disappointed truly. not worth the hype, it makes my eyelashes skinny n weird not full and lush like say sky high cosmic black by L'Oreal (i think) or featherlash was an oldie but a goodie....i love mascara but this one was a dud. ill keep using it but im not trying to buy it again.
