Oatey Mystic Rainwater Diverter

We had our first rain yesterday and the downspout diverter looks to have worked flawlessly. The installation instructions were clear and easy. note: I do not see a "submit" button on this page?

It did what its designed for.

Pretty simple to install and the best option I could find to tie our rain barrel into the gutter.

Easy to install. works like a charm to fill the rain barrel.

The hose could be made of some other material that is more pliable. The hose was stiff, even after warming it up. The connection of the hose to the rain barrel could be a handy addition to the items included. Was fairly simple to install, needed to use some silicon spray to help slide the top portion on to the downspout. The next rain filled up the barrel and the excess went down the downspout as advertised.

Worked as advertised. It doesn't install without releasing one end of the downspout. But it was easy to do. Filled our rain barrel in one night.

Not good for heavy rain plastic peace do not stay attached

This rain diverter leaks when it rains heavily. The main problem is that the internal baffle is above the join between the two halves and there is only an approx 1/2" x 1/2" gap in the baffle to allow the rain to overflow. When the rain barrel is full and it rains heavily, the small aperture in the baffle does not allow the water to drain fast enough so it leaks out of the gap between the two components. I'm surprised why the product designers thought this design was a good idea and didn't make the outside lip higher than the baffle so that the overflow would go down the downspout.

I bought this downspout diverter last week and hooked it up over the weekend. On Monday we had a good rain and I went out to see how good it works. IT LEAKS water where the two pieces meet and water was poring down the outside of the downspout on to the ground around my foundation. I called OateyMysric and did not receive a satisfactory answer. As soon as I can replace the downspout with a new one (had to cut out 6 inches to install) I'm taking it back. Stay away from this poorly designed product
