this is not salty and that is great !! I make a delicious vegetable barley stew with this and shared some with a neighbor and she asked for my recipe !! eating healthy is easy with this delicious broth

i love this broth, so easy to make miso soup with dumplings. The flavor is so good on its own yet so strong that if I mix one of these containers and one of regular chicken broth in my soup, the taste of the miso is still so good.

I read somewhere that using umami in recipes can add a quality that's pretty incredible. So not finding the umami or miso paste I was hoping to get, I bought this broth. It did not disappoint. I make soups quite regularly and usually reach for chicken broth (over beef) because it's not too bold but still flavourful. This however adds a depth without fighting. It doesn't overpower like beef broth sometimes does. It just gives a extra oomph to my soups. I'll still use chicken broth for soups where a subtle background is better - like pumpkin, ginger, granny smith apple soup, coconut milk (it's to die for with Ro-Tel, or a chili paste added for an extra kick). For soups like that, I want those ingredients to pop. But in my cabbage roll soup or other similar ones, the miso broth is my go-to.

I bought this because I was looking for some different types of soups to try that are still nutritious. They scored high on the Yuka app, indicating high nutrition and low hazardous additives. It tasted great and was super easy to use. Natural ingredients.

This was convenient and tasty. I cooked frozen mixed vegetables, added it to this miso along with ramen rice noodles and boiled tofu. What a wonderful healthy soup. I recommend when miso paste isn't available.

We make miso based soups at home and this product is great for it's a value. It's average on salt level but you can lightly dilute it without losing much flavor.

Opened it and it smelled horrible started pouring and there was mold floating out. I cut the container open and it was filled with mold! The expiration date was for July 25th of next year. Also received the container damaged.

It says it doesn't expire until 2025 but when I started to pour the miso it was an awful smell and mold came out. I took a photo of inside and I'm traumatized by the contents inside and the smell

This is not your everyday miso soup. It tastes absolutely horrible! Even when I used it as a soup base to mix with my regular miso powdered soup, it threw off the entire flavor. I tried it again this morning because it's very cold here in California right now. I started with chicken stock, then I added about a quarter cup of this miso soup. I then added my already prepared white rice, I added my angel hair noodles, cooked all of it together then added my miso powder soup. It was terrible! However, because I buy the food, and I don't like to waste it, I ate it. What I would like to see is for Walmart to include more Asian related food items, including the powdered miso soup mix I buy elsewhere. I would like to ask Walmart to stock their shelves with the best ever miso soup mix for a cup. It's called "Miso-Cup" by Edward %26 Sons Trading Co., and this is the individual envelopes that you can simply make one cup of miso soup with. Walmart does offer the larger packet of miso soup mix, but what if you only want a cup? And you don't want to make a big pot of soup? That's what the individual cup size envelope packets are for.

Disgusting. Pleae do not waste your money. It tastes of rot and milk. Very strange flavor. Unlike any miso I have ever had. I cut the carton open to see if there was mold. There was not. I poured it out and threw the carton away. Walmart wants me to do an in store return for a refund. I may or may not fish the carton out of the garbage, but that is definitely where it belongs.
