El Paso Mexican Rice is delicious. I just served it with homemade enchiladas and it was wonderful. It was spiced just right, tender and juicy and so easy to prepare. None was left!
Old El Paso brand has the best line of Mexican foods and this rice is full of flavor and easy and quick to make. It goes well with anything or it's delicious on its own.
Put ground chicken in a pan, add a tablespoon of minced garlic, sprinkle cilantro all over chicken. Mix it all together %26 cook until done. Then add a taco seasoning packet. After you cook this El Paso rice, stir it together with the ground chicken mix you just fixed. I fix this in meal prep tins, and we reheat later. Just sprinkle a few drops of water and cover with foil to reheat. 15-20 mins on 400. My son loves it and says it reminds him of chili, and he gets the calories he wants for beefing up.
I only did four stars because I expected more flavor from this product. It was very mild. It was very tasty only low on flavor. I decided to try this in my stuffed peppers instead of plain rice. I recommend doing this. it really added a nice flavor to our stuffed peppers. We had the left over rice as our side dish rather mashed potatoes. It was a nice change to our menu.
Used this to make taco bell recipe qusaritos for cinco de mayo, the texture of the rice is very good but the descriptive title of "cheesy rice" feels somewhat deceptive. Just tastes like a seasoned rice, it's no bad by any means but it definitely isn't "cheesy" either...
i wasn't that impressed. i was hoping for a thick cheesy sauce, but the sauce wasnt that thick, it was comparable to other instant rices i have bought.
We thought this rice would come in a box of a similar size to Rice A Roni. We were surprised that it was a physically larger box. Wow. This must be some rice dish. Wrong! We opened the box and found a dribble of rice at the bottom of this goodly-sized box. We noted that the rice level was below the image of the plate of rice on the box (see pic). We know most side dishes come in a larger-than-needed box because the seasoning packet takes up more room than the rice/pasta/whatever. But this product's sizing was almost comical. The packet didn't even need that large of a box! They seem to be packaging this product in a larger box just to make it look more impressive on the shelf. Don't be fooled. As far as the rice itself, it was meh. Nothing that we'd jump to buy again. We only remember it because of the big box for a tiny bit of food.
This rice has no flavor profile. You might just cook up some plain rice because this has no flavor at all. Be prepared to add your own chicken bouillon, garlic, cumin, chili powder or spices to make it taste like something. I'll just buy plain rice next time. It's cheaper.
Terrible don't waste your money! The recipe calls for a certain amount of water, but it's way too much and no matter how much you boil the product and let it simmer, it is still watery and zero taste!
I don't know what it was, but it tasted like the smell of garbage. Also, I cooked it exactly the way I was supposed to and it came out soupy. It was not good at all. I'm not one to spit out my food, but I did with this.
