Open Pit Thick & Sweet Brown Sugar & Bourbon Barbecue Sauce, 18 oz.

I had never tried this flavor before. I saw this and decided since I enjoy open pit original flavor, I should give this a try. I was happy I did. This has a great taste.

I'm in my 60's now. I grew up eating the original open pit. It was a constant staple in our house. My parents would add a slice of lemon, a dash of sugar and some other things. This new version of open pit, can be used right out the bottle! It has the perfect blend of taste that you would want on your meats. My only complaint is, I now live in the Pacific Northwest. Therefore I have to travel to Chicago for a couple of bottles or Amazon. This sauce needs to be known by each region. Thanks again for consistently staying above the bar! ✌🏽👍🏽

This is a great staple to have in the kitchen. The normal Open Pit is watery, artificial looking red, thin, doesn't cling to anything. THIS Open Pit Sauce is (in my opinion) just as good as kc masterpiece %26 bullseye. I swore I'd never leave Bullseye's side. But this thick version of Open Pit is very good too. I add a jar of molasses to it %26 it carmelizes on the meat/poultry excellently. I use my convection oven for about 45 minutes %26 it comes out great. Plus it's less than $1.50/bottle at Walmart; makes it easy to stock up, especially for the summer holidays. i'm sure there are people that may/may not like this sauce, but for being budget conscious %26 wanting to keep good taste, this is a GREAT viable option. If you haven't tried it, just try it once %26 if you don't like it, then you don't. But if you try it %26 you like it, then put a couple of bottles in the cart at your next grocery shop.

Never cared for Original Open Pit BBQ sauce before. Thought I would try it again in a different flavor, sweet brown sugar %26 bourbon BBQ sauce. The flavor tasted real good in the recipe I used it in.

I'm sensitive to hot spices, I'm feeling like I'm in the minority here. I picked this sauce because I was expecting it not to be spicy. They really need to put that on the bottle unless if my bottle was mislabeled. I didn't taste any bourbon flavor but dang my mouth felt the heat. Holy Cow this stuff is THICK! Talk about anticipation, I didn't think I was ever going to get it out of the bottle. I'm pretty sure I'll have to water it down some to get more out. I just wish they would be more honest in their labeling and let us know it's also spicy. It might be great for most people but for me, I won't ever buy this brand again.
