Optimus F-4182 Heavy Duty Aluminum 18 Inch 3 Speed Industrial Fan, Chrome

I have a larger fan that is not as powerful as this one. The other one has tiny screws that hold the grill covering the fan blades. It is impossible for me to get them to turn and release the cover. I have given up on cleaning it and just use a foxtail to clean it and then a vacuum to pull what dirt away that I can. The Optimus has simple to open flip up clamps that hold the fan grills on. A small screwdriver an pry up the clips and the fan blades are exposed and easy to clean. I love it. It is quiet and moves more air than my 20 inch fan does. I'll buy Optimus from here out.

I can't say enough positive things about this fan. I live in the desert and in the summer the temps regularly top 100 degrees. This fan has reduced my AC usage by 30%, at least. During the day I use it as a floor fan, spreading the cool air from the AC MUCH farther then the AC can do on it's own, and at night, when the outside temps drop 30 degrees, I turn off the AC, set it in front of an open window and use it as an exhaust fan. This brings in the cool air through other open windows WONDERFULLY. And all of this on the lowest setting! The fan is powerful, attractive, easy to move, and very sturdy. It has clips holding on the front grill for easy-access cleaning. It IS a little loud, which is to be expected from a high-velocity fan, and not a deal breaker, in my opinion. I not only would, but HAVE recommended this fan to everyone I know!

My husband bought this fan because it was really hot in our bedroom and he bought this particular one for ambient noise. Oh yeah, it's loud! But you get used to it. If you need something to drown out noise, this is the fan for you. We kept this fan running 24/7 and it took 2 years for the motor to finally give out. Yes, even in the winter, he'd turn it around and use it just for the noise. The only downside is that it's short. You would have to sit it on top of something big if you want to feel the air when you're sleeping in bed.

This fan worked better than I had expected.The air flow is very strong and gives out cold air.If I sit in front of the fan I would use my throw to cover myself up. The first day I used it,it blew my pictures off the wall,lol. The only con is that the cord is really short,which limits where you can position it.It is loud compared to a plastic fan,however I find the noise to be relaxing .Plus it tunes out my neighbors :)

Excellent product, works as advertised , light and easy to move around , it's High Velocity ( I never had to use higher setting than the lowest one) so it makes some noise it's unavoidable , the fan itself is solid built , as for Walmart , they shipped it very fast ( got it in less than 3 days)!

Loud but really moves the air though your house or appartment open only 2 to 3 windows put the fan in one window one end of home blowing out and it will suck the the air right though your home. If using in a room make sure you have any loose papers secured or this fan will blow them away like a tornado you will have a mess. Works great in the garage as well be carfull of using while sawing or cutting wood it will really blow saw dust or wood chips around. Low speed is as powerfull as high on most fans if not stronger

The key is "High Velosity." Other fans just blow hot air. I love this powerful, cool fan, and will never waste my money on any other. I use the low-setting--that amazingly works for me. I haven't needed to increase to the higher speeds yet :-)

I purchased this fan specifically for my workout space. I've used floor fans, ceiling fans, vornado fans, etc. and this one trumped them all. To prevent overheating, I require a decent, continuous blast of air flowing in the room when I exercise. I sacrificed noise for comfort tho. If you want a nice quiet humming fan, this is not for you. If you sweat and need monster air flow to stay comfortable, this is your fan. Whether its in a garage, a shop or a room in the house, understand you just need to turn your music up a little louder and don't expect quiet conversation with others. I gave it a 4/5 stars as it is not a quality industrial strength metal. That's expected for the price. Although it is shiny and new now, I suspect over time, the coating over the metal will start to corrode or just tarnish.

i read the other reviews and thought that this was a super loud fan....while it does blow alot of air which will be great in summer it is not loud enough to drown out the noise of traffic going by on the highway outside my house....it is sturdy and made of metal which we like better than the plastic fans,,but i was hoping it was the noisiest fan ive had yet, but sadly it is not...still worth it for the nice breeze it blows i guess.

This does not seem to be an industrial strength fan. I am still evaluating it but so far it does not comes close to what I was looking for in a fan.
