I love the power and the ease of handling. the only downfall was the bar chain oil is clear and so is the gauge so it was hard to tell when there was enough oil in it. but that oil is gone and now I'm using regular bar chain oil which I hope is okay. and that is dark so you can see where it registers on the gauge. all in all it was a great Buy! and great delivery!
....This Oregon CS1500 18 inch Is "Slicker Than Socks On A Rooster" ! !....Great Value For The Money !...No Mixing Gas !...Great Power ! ....I just have to get use to not having a variable speed switch....I have a woodworking shop that build crafts out of all sorts of wood....This Chainsaw Is Fantastic For Rough Cutting Logs Down To A Workable Size !.....Woooooo Whoooo !....I Love It !...
This is a great corded electric saw. The best attribute is not having to deal with gas and pulling the pull start cord. The worst is the limitations of electrical cords, i use one 100' and one 50' aound my property. I dropped and cut up a dead 40' willow tree last week, worked great. First week i had it, cut up a large maple which dropped during a recent storm. As long as tge cord reaches, its great!
I bought this chainsaw for my husband for Christmas. He finally got to use it today. We have had ice and snow in our area and lots of cold temperatures. He told me it worked GREAT. It was smooth running and a nice blade and cut through the wood of the tree.
I bought this after reading the numerous reviews. Oregon is an industry leader in the chainsaw business so I thought I would give it a try. After my gas powered chainsaw dies I needed a good saw to use around my home to clean up hurricane damaged trees some of which were large. When I received it I was very pleased with it's quality. It performed beautifully!! It cut through the large trees and never slowed down and never got hot. I HIGHLY recommend this saw. One thing I did was make sure that I used a cord that was a 12/3 to avoid voltage/amperage loss which could damage the motor.
This is my first time buying an electric chainsaw. I have two gas-powered ones, and they're damaged after only a few months of use. Now that I've bought this one, it's the best one I've ever purchased. I highly recommend it. It's super easy to use.
This is a replacement for the previous non-self-sharpening model whose self-oiler quit after about 8 years of moderate use. It arrived 5 days late and its box was totally smashed and ripped open. Fortunately, it's hard to damage a chainsaw, even for UPS workers and after prep the saw seems to work fine. I don't have a large amount of land so, for me, an electric chainsaw is the way to go. The trees I have are large, though, so when one falls I need the 18" bar with its 16" cutting area. I was a little apprehensive about this one because the self-sharpening chains are much more expensive than regular ones, but a call to one of Oregon's always-great customer service people with personal experience using their products reassured me that with prudent use of the self-sharpener I could get 3-4 times the life from a chain, making the cost a wash. He also assured me I can use a less expensive non-self-sharpening chain (I still have a couple on hand) without using the sharpener. My only issues with this new saw are that it's a tiny bit heavier than the old one and (more importantly) the handle and motor housing case is about 2 inches longer, likely necessary to accommodate the on-board self-sharpener. I think, however, that I'll be able to get used to the change in ergonomics and I recently purchased an 8" battery-operated chainsaw to take care of smaller cutting tasks. Overall, I'm quite happy with this purchase. Oregon knows wood-cutting and their customer service is among the best in the business world.
Never got a chance to use the Oregon CSI 1500 chainsaw because I had to return the product to Walmart for a replacement. The package /product was delivered by FedEx damaged and torn. Anxious to get the replacement chain saw but never received the replacement order either. Contacted online Walmart and the customer representative issued me a refund instead.
When I received the chainsaw the box was severely damaged and had the post office open to inspect. The chainsaw arrived with the chain installed backwards which seemed really strange for a company who makes chains for chainsaws. Once I reversed the chain and went through the startup procedure I made a few cuts and the chain kept coming off so I packaged it up and returned. The unit seemed heavy duty but there were too many issues to keep using.
Followed the owners manual instructions about priming the bar oiler , cut great for about ten minutes then crooked . The second one I have had die on me . I thought I was at fault for the first one failing , thats why I bought the second one . Run it on a 10 gauge power cord just to be safe . Died after ten minutes total use , hopes Oregon honors its warranty . When the saws work they really cut great .
