definitely would recommend this item I did not expect it to be a huge bag trying to lower my expectations of ordering online and as I'm gardening I can tell that it's great because I came back outside 10 minutes later I got a little flies so I have to buy some more product to keep them away It is really really good soil
Love this brand of soil!! Just buy it! You won't be disappointed! Everything about this stuff is awesome! My plants are thriving in this soil! And the fact that all the ingredients are organic is a definite win 😊 also have these in all my raised garden beds.
Have used this brand before. Great quality and at a good price. Delivered to my door. No mold, no smell, highly recommend, bag is thick enough to ship and handle but easy enough to tear open for easy spread and use. Used for flowers and veggies. Good drainage. Received contents dry. Very pleased
Purchased for our new raised garden beds we have used this soil many times and it's the one we like the best our plants seem to grow nice in this organic potting soil. And to top it off it was also the best price for organic raised bedding soil.
I bought this twice. The first time I bought one bag it was ok. It looks like that mulch compost that walmart sells. I saw no nugrients in in but i was like maybe thats what natural potting soil looks like 👀. So I bought three more…. When I tell you the fonky smell that came out of those other three bags was horrible. Stank so bad. I hate it for the delivery guy. Hope my plants fo ok in it… I had no choice but to use it bc my plants were in dire need of being repotted.
I bought tons of this soil last year for my raised beds and when amended just with some compost/manure mixed in the plant growth was kind of puny. It was my first year gardening so I didnt see the issue with the soil until this year when I bought more of this, plus another brand organic soil. In comparison, this is thick, clumpy, and has way too much bark, where the other soil is loose and easy to work with. This year the plants in my other soil are thriving while the ones in my new bag of this are barely growing. The excess bark has brought a horde of pillbugs into my garden as well.
I bought 18 bags for a new raised garden box. It was very wet and muddy and smelled a lot like sour milk. I also noticed some kind of small insect that looked like fire ants. I'm not a soil expert, so I assumed it was the way it should be and perhaps the insects were part of the ecosystem. I went ahead and planted numerous types of vegetables and they only grew an inch or two and stopped. They're not dead, but they haven't grown since May. The garden is getting good sunlight, and there is no reason why the plants are not growing. I used a different brand of soil for my tomato grow bags and they're growing beautifully. I have to conclude that it's the soil that is to blame. I was really hoping this garden would greatly help my limited food budget this summer. I may have to take all the soil out of the garden box, a huge job for a 68-year-old, and buy a different brand of soil in the spring.
If I could give it a zero I would. This product is more like bark mulch with a bit of dirt in it. It ‘s full of mushroom spores and pieces of plastic. It killed all my plants and now I'm stuck with extra bags I wouldn't even put in my chicken run. $600 for the “soil”, the cost of all my plants, plus my labor down the drain.
I had thought this would be premium and better than Miracle Grow soil that has plastic and wiring and other household junk. Every bag was heavy, wet and smelled bad. They were spoiled! I thought it was normal and let them air out and used them, plants started dying. I have no way to return, these were delivered where I don't have a truck, have a toddler and am physically unable to lift them without help. Multiple bags, almost $100 wasted. Very disappointed, these seemed to have so much potential.
Well, I got the delivery of this bag by the front door and a different brand, 2 more bags by the garage. It was probably delivered by two different delivery people... so I opened the bag by the front door, it has mold everywhere!!! The dirt was white with mold!!! I looked at it and put gloves on. I couldn't return 40%23 of opened dirt. Besides, I'm disabled and can't easily lift that. So, I mixed it up and the dirt still looked greyish. I was not planting anything edible, only ornamental. I dug some holes added some dirt, watered, put in the plants, watered, more dirt. It's been a couple of weeks and SURPRISE they aren't dead yet. I won't be buying this dirt again. I mean, who sells moldy dirt??
