Am a fan of Ozark Trail to begin with. Was excited to upgrade to this heater. Only knock is on it's low setting it will flutter a little bit. This is solved by adjusting the knob slighty to the high setting. Fits my application perfectly for emergency heat.

Love this

Sim December 1, 2024

Love this. I was afraid that it might not work after reading the reviews, but it works great. Mine didn't start right away as well as others, but as the direction says, give it 5-10 minutes so the gas can flow in the system when you are using it for the first time!

Powerful Punch

Ferm January 31, 2026

I love the heat that it produces. I also loved that the only set-up was to install the tank and pull out the handle. My only draw back is that it either operates on high or low. Otherwise, the heater is a great purchase for short term emergencies or camping. My brother was so impressed by the output in a large space that he went and purchased another one.

I absolutely love this heater! This season alone I've been through the name brand heaters twice which each time it was a different problem. so I decided to try this Ozark trail brand heater and I am so glad I did. this heater definitely puts out enough heat and quickly. it has the same attachment parts as the name brand so all the hoses that I had originally purchased for those heaters actually fit this one! I have had 0, yes zero issues with this heater. I am using a 12ft hose that has a fuel filter on the end and have had no issues with that. also no issues with the spark starter. it works like a charm every time. it does take approximately 3 sparks for it to ignite but that is normal. also no issues with it staying lit. I run it all night long with no issues. overall, I think this heater is better than the name brand, in my opinion. so I definitely recommend if you're looking for a propane heater. it keeps my electric bill down during the winter and keeps my house at a very comfortable temperature.

Not satisfied

Dougefresh October 31, 2024

Not as good as the Coleman. I dont like how the knob works to start it. Gives off a faint odor when using (maybe this is normal for propane heaters used inside?). Bought b/c Walmart was out of the smaller coleman heaters and this was cheaper than the larger Coleman heater. But I wouldnt invest in another one. Normally I like Ozark Trail products but not this one.

only works with a 1 lb can, as received

Norm February 5, 2026

Bought it with the idea of connecting it to my 500 gal tank. BUT, Input only works with a 1 lb can, or 50 lb tank with extra (not included) $20 adapter hose. To use on my tank, I had to buy the hose and modify it for NPT gas line use, Still waiting to do this, so don't know yet how it works.

This heater was temperamental right off the bat. The pilot light blows out, and you have to keep restarting it. It needs lots of air to start but once you finally get it going it's alright but it wont run on the low setting. I use it with a 20lb tank.

Do NOT bill this as a camping AND emergency heater when you have to buy an accessory separately to connect this to a full size propane tank. The fact that you wouldn't just include the adapter and increase the price slightly for the entire unit is BRAINDEAD. Hello? Get the word “emergency” out of your vocab, Ozark Trail. You failed. Your branch failed. Your marketing failed. Your product failed. You greedy clowns. Over a few bucks you prevent people desperate for heat in an emergency. Fools.

Disappointing

David December 20, 2024

The one pound propane cylinder that attaches to the unit would frost up within 1/2 hour and shut the unit off. Happened multiple times so I returned the unit. Was supposed to run for 4 hours on low or 2 hours on high. Never made it past 1/2 hour. I would not recommend it.

Stopped working on first night of use.

Kenneth November 11, 2024

I purchased this unit for a hunting trip. The unit stopped working on the first night of use. Pilot light would go out after unit was turned to hi when relit. Pilot lite flutters on low making noise. Hooked to a full 20lb tank. Also tried two different hoses and tanks. Still same issue.
