Ozark Trail 12-Cup Stainless Steel Camping Percolator

It's all stainless, so it's easy to clean. The attached bail makes it easy to hang over a campfire. Not too big, not too small. It's described as a 12 cup coffee pot, but that's only if you fill it right to the top. Filling it up to the basket, which is where most people will fill it, holds about 8 cups.

I'm really pleased with how well this thing heats up and how well it makes coffee! Friction is so low you just tap the thing out rinse it out and make new coffee. It drains it out no filter no fuss no mess and the coffee comes out so strong when it percolate like this in my opinion, there's no other way even if you're not camping, I would recommend this coffee pot because of how strong the coffee is.

Having never used a percolator like this before, instructions or at least suggestions on how much coffee to use, how long it should percolate, etc, would have been nice. It took a few false starts, but now have it figured out and get to have a good cup of coffee without having to worry about it one day ceasing to function (heating element going out, etc).

This is a percolator-type coffee pot even though I plan on using it as a drip coffee maker. Why? Because using it as a percolator and repeatedly heating the liquid for the percolator action tends to burn the taste of coffee. I have NOT tested it to see how well the percolator function operates. The stainless steel construction, however, is a definite plus (for ease of cleaning) and the gauge thickness of the metal promises to be useful for many years.

Bought for emergencies, like this last snow storm. Tried it out so I would know how to use it. It made a good cup of coffee. Notes: Burner on high until the water starts to boil/perk, then turn to Medium for 7 minutes for a medium cup of coffee. Longer times make the coffee stronger.

We really like this percolator. We had a smaller one, but with our love of coffee, and kids who also like to sit with a hot chocolate while we drink our coffee, we needed to add a second kettle. This worked just as it should, and I'm happy with the clear indicator and wood lined handle. (Our other percolator did not have this on the handle, and is more annoying to move around once it is very hot. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing contraption, but If you need a percolator that does what it should, this is a good one to get.

Amazingly, this stainless steel pot is exactly what I wanted.Stainless steel is safer and healthier than other materials.It makes fragrant delicious coffee.I am 92 and things have become very difficult for me. i am so thankful for Wall Mart deliveries.I have found just what i want on your wb site. I had a glass perculator with a hard (rubber/plastic?) handle that I have had for decades, and I dropped a skillet on it. (Skillet hanging on a hook on the wall, I was rearranging, and the coffee pot was in the dish drain below) :( So, I wanted to get something fast to alleviate my pain but I should have went back to my original glass pot. I don't like not being able to see the coffee brewing so I don't "burn" it. The wood handle has that rustic "camping" vibe to it, but I'm not going to grab it without a towel or something because the metal attached. Same thing with the metal "coat hanger" handle on top. I was trying to grab something quick to replace something that had been with me since my first apartment many, many years ago. And, this pot is perfectly fine for someone who just wants to make a pot of joe without a lot of fuss. It's solidly made for the most part, but make sure you read the do's and don'ts because there is something about leaving water in it too long, and make sure you don't do this or that. For me, I don't know what I was thinking...

The coffee basket lid does not fit the basket, it sits on the top of the pot instead of the basket. Coffee grounds get into coffee. The coffee pot lid is does not sit on the pot properly. Does for emergencies. Would not recommend for everyday use.

I am very disappointed with the quality of the Ozark percolator. I picked up the percolator at the Walmart curb side parking area. The Walmart employee delivered the coffee pot to my car; I immediately could see the base and inserts were misaligned. When I pointed this out to the employee, he looked as if I did not understand English. It looked like someone had smashed the percolator with a hammer. I cannot why this product was not checked for quality before my purchase.
