These poles held up well and were easy to adjust. I might prefere poles that colapse small enough to fit better in my backpack but whould an extra section be less sturdy?? I found myself using the top of the poles grip in my palms for downhill work and even sometimes for uphill. I think my weak knees would do even better with "T"style cane grips.
The lightweight feature is nice for long hikes. The compatibility is nice for storage. The material seemed very strong. The cork material on handles seems to absorb sweat so I do not know how long the cork material will last because sweat will probably cause deterioration of the cork overtime with heavy usage. The adjustments are easily made for different heights. I do think the bottom of the poles could be better, but I do not know how long they will last.
Great for the price. Adjustment is easy and effective. Quick lock feature doesn't allow the stick to slide down like my last set. Comfortable handle.
I've used them for about 60 miles. Good poles at a good price. The one design flaw is the absence of the ability to lock the wrist straps at less than fully open open. The rubber section under the cork handle compensates by giving a gripping surface for the fingers other than the cold metal.
honestly i bought these for a two day and two nights hike on the ozark Highlands trail and these trekking poles have not let me down one bit I even only used one and let my buddy use another one and even with one there fairly sturdy for the price
bought a set for my aunt and dad for daily use. both needed a cane or walker from time. said those items left them with a sore back. after trying these trk poles both said that it helped improve their posture. their ba k pain was less.
These appear to be good quality hiking poles for this price. Haven't used them yet but there are markings for adjustment on the poles and the locking parts are easy to operate. I would recommend buying these in store because I had to return two delivered sets that were missing the bottom section on one pole. When I went to the store, there were several on the peg that were also missing the bottom section. Not sure if this is happening at the factory or in shipment but someone at Walmart needs to be checking these before they are delivered or stocked in the store to be sure both poles are complete.
I took the Ozark Trail Aluminum Adjustable Quick Lock Trekking Poles with Cork Grip back packing on a trip to Arizona. They did offer an excellent value for a budget-conscious hikers as hiking gear can get expensive. They did provide the typical essential features such as adjustable length, cork grips for comfort, and a quick-lock mechanism for easy setup. The poles are lightweight and compact, making them suitable for both hiking, but they were also compact enough to fit in my carry on luggage. However, I noticed multiple times that locking mechanism kept loosening while hiking. This would cause the poles to suddenly collapse when I was using them to either step down large step or to use to disperse my weight climbing up hill. If it wasn't for my husband having his pocket knife, this would have been incredibly annoying as I wouldn't have had a way to tighten the poles on my hiking and I would have had to carry the poles more than I was able to use them then. While these poles are functional for light use, it is important to check and tighten the locking mechanisms. I would suggest these as a "cheap" set for short day hikes, but if contemplating back packing in rugged terrain with these poles would not be recommended.
I could not get these poles to tighten enough. As soon as the slightest amount of pressure was applied to the extended pole, it immediately began retracking. I don't expect the pole to hold up under the full weight of a person, but it held up under nothing, which made it pointless for using as a hiking tool. It only was useful while fully retracted, which again, was pointless for anyone taller than about 3 feet.
I ordered two of the walking sticks from Walmart online on two different days as not available in their stores. I'm completely appalled at the lack of sense of people that work at the warehouse as both sets of walking sticks were the cork handle section only missing the critical lower portion. Walmart needs better quality control. They are failing when compared to Amazon. I wish there was a way to let corporate know. Based on this I will not renew the Walmart plus membership as I expect better results than received.
