Similar function as original osprey farpoint 55 - main backpack is only 35L rather than 40L - comes with rain over also, so there is a bisecting layer between upper and lower compartments, so need to use lower to make use of full 35L. Also the attachment of smaller day pack to main pack is only through straps rather than zipper and straps like osprey. The daypack is not the most comfortable - wish it had a more substantial cushioning and more contoured straps. Internal frame is also not a wire surround but a single aluminum stay. Still, for Walmart pricing it is a fantastic buy!

great size for my son's 5th grade camping trip for 3 days. love the compartments, especially the one for shoes. the little day pack came in handy tkk.

I bought this for my son to use for school. I wanted something that had a smaller attachable bag so he could put his basketball stuff in there and not have an extra bag to manage. Add that to his school work and lunch bag this backpack allows him to fit it all in there.

Holds a lot of gear and water. The detachable small pack is a nice bonus with two zipper areas, but are both large enough to hold cell phone, charger, snacks etc. The pack has a sturdy waist and chest strap both of which are comfortable and adjustable. Two small hip pockets for ear buds or lip balm. Easy access and loops for water bladders.

I purchased this pack for a trekking trip to Nepal. It was used as a day pack, carrying only about 10lb. It served very well, was comfortable to carry, and had most of the same features as packs costing 5-10x. Although it was not used, the attached small pack would be useful for a parent %26child day-hike. The child could carry the small pack, but the parent could easily attach it to his large pack when the child tires. Very versatile, very good value.

I ended up returning this because I was worried it wouldn't be sufficient for a 3 day backpacking trip. I have ZERO experience so I needed to go with easy-mode and opted for a larger bag that is tall enough for my tent poles. My tent and poles strapped on the bottom of the big bag but I don't know if I could get it all rolled up and strapped in consistently and comfortably every day. The main pocket is nice and big (35L); the additional/optional backpack (15L) is great for separating some stuff out for easier access. The zippers and fabric felt very high quality and didn't get stuck. Hydration ports on both bags. It had a solid back with some kind of metal strip, sternum strap, and waist strap; it felt comfortable trying it on.

I paid $24 for this bag. At that price it is a great deal! The size is perfect for 3 day trips and the extra bag is great for a short walk/hike.

so many pockets and so much space that you can live out of this thing. also great carry on if ya need. so much space and room . to it justice you need to see it in person

This is a good pack for a mom and her kid to use as a hiking bag. You can have your little carry some stuff and then click the little backpack onto the bigger one later when they get tired. It will not hold up for actual backpacking as it lacks effective waterproofing and the stitching was obviously done by a machine that lives it's life slightly broken all the time like me. It is also great if you like coordinated stuff.

Great little bag-exact size I wanted. I wish the little guy felt more ergonomic when it's all attached, but the bag is small enough that I'm not loading it real heavy, so it's fine.
