This should be able to get the bait out there. Stiff enough action to pull in some decent bass and trout. Will take some adjust to get use to this length.
We bought this for our 17 year old son who loves to fish for bass. He has had many poles and has broke a few with large bass. We bought this one because of it's solid construction and it's strength. It has a heavy feel. It has EVA foam grips that makes its hold comfortable. This pole is definitely made for larger fish. Affordable and recommended.
Great price doesn't work for long term use but good to get out there a few times and have fun at a good price

Very good rod and reel combo for the price. This 5000 size reel holds a lot of line (30lb braid). It has a thick bail wire, a plastic spool and comfortable handle. This medium heavy rod has a nice long handle and is light weight. Both and reel performs well. I have only used it in saltwater followed by a quick rinse most of the time, and there's no sign of rusting so far. The reel has the same smoothness as day one, and the rod guides are still in good condition. For a basic rod and reel combo I would definitely recommend, especially for the reel.
