I purchased this knife as a gift, and the recipient was very pleased! German steel, although reasonable priced it is just as good as another style of knife with $$$ price tag (expenisve knife starts with W) of the same style. Handle is nice as well.
this filet knife did its job well. no complaints.
great knife for the price.
Great fillet knife at a great price
The Ozark Trail Saltwater 7″ Fillet Knife is very sharp and dependable. I like the blue color, and it makes me think of my time at the beach.
good knife
Very sharp, great knife
Since moving to a coastal area, I found that I was missing one important tool in my cutlery, a true fillet knife. A good fillet knife makes cleaning and skinning fish a lot easier and it reduces the waste of good meat. When I found the Ozark Trail Salt Fillet Knife series, I figured that the 7-inch model would be my best option to start with. Pros: Sturdy construction. Flexible German 4116 stainless steel, titanium coated blade (corrosion resistant, i.e. “saltwater”). Full “tang” design blade (metal of blade goes up into the handle) making it stronger. Soft touch handle, ergonomically designed, fits large hands comfortably and has lanyard hole. Good finger guard and thumb rise (bolster). Protective nylon storage sheath with loop for hanging on your belt. Cons: None Overall, I am pleased with this knife and would recommend it to anyone. I feel that the seven-inch blade is best for larger fish and I will be buying the smaller five inch for smaller fish, choosing which knife works best for the job. Thank you
Very dull blade out of the package.. Had issues cutting through small bait fish
The filet knife is extremely sharp and cuts through fresh fish very easily. The holster is very substantial and holds the knife very securely. The only problem I see with the knife is that it didn't cut through bones. It took a lot of force to cut even the rib bones.
