Pacific Arc - Artist Vine Charcoal, Soft, Black 4 Charcoal Sticks for Drawing, Sketching, and Fine Art

I am very happy with this charcoal. I am having fun using the gelatin printing process and this type of charcoal is the right consistency to actually draw on the surface of the Gelli plate.

Pacific Arc Vine Charcoal offers smooth, blendable strokes with deep, rich blacks, making it a great choice for both quick sketches and detailed shading. Its soft texture allows for easy blending and erasing, giving artists control over tonal variations. However, it can be fragile and produces some dust, which is expected with vine charcoal. Despite that, it's a reliable option for anyone looking to add expressive depth to their artwork.

We loved these for a school art project. My first time working with charcoal and didn't realize how fragile the sticks are. But they worked as expected and it was fun to try a new medium.

I prefer the vine charcoal over the pencils. I guess I'm just picky about it. I've looked all over to find some I really like. I love this. I'd definitely recommend it.

They are very thin and they easily broke when they were being used. I had to purchase a different kind.
