I had never used a meat grinder before. This handy unit did the job, but I thought the feed mouth could had been a bit more extended so that juices would not slosh and sprinkle barely. It’s not really bad but there were some sprinklet leakages that left the work area (and sprinkled at me). I attached this unit to a big cutting board and set wax paper down to protect the wood from meat juices, and that setup worked 99% as good as I had hoped. After spraying the mechanisms with cooking oil (thank Misto!!), the meat did a fine and easy job of grinding. I had very chill water poured over the cold meat pieces. I would slice them more toward .5” instead of .75” next time in order to prepare them for the grinder, because the bigger pieces seemed to slosh more in the hopper feed portion of this device I found the process slower than I expected but quite effective. I ground the meat twice, but it seems like overkill now after the fact.
The grinder was a little smaller than I thought it would be... at the same time, for infrequent use, its size is just about right. It could use a larger clamp to better fit my countertop. One other consideration. These are a bear to clean. And sorry, it is not really suited to go in a dishwasher.
We purchased this manual meat grinder because we love making homemade pâtés. However, we were shocked by the quality - while it appears to be made of metal, it feels as light as plastic. The feeding chamber where ingredients are inserted is extremely dangerous, with sharp metal burrs and jagged edges. To make matters worse, it only comes with one coarse grinding plate, whereas most grinders typically include several plates with different hole sizes. The most ridiculous aspect is the size - this grinder is so absurdly small that only children could use it for playing pretend kitchen. It's not a functional kitchen tool for adults; it's a miniature toy masquerading as real equipment. **Recommendation:** I cannot recommend this product - my only advice is to avoid purchasing this meat grinder entirely. **Pros:** None **Cons:** - Thin, flimsy metal construction - Dangerous burrs and sharp edges that pose a serious injury risk - Only includes one coarse grinding plate instead of multiple options - Ridiculously small size - only suitable for children's play, not actual cooking
I bought 2 of this, one was new, the other box came open, box with hole, the machine with oxide, it looks like an old one, and missing parts, I receive it today, I will return it tomorrow.
I had a meat grinder of this design made of cast iron, but it was lost due to moving. This meat grinder has knives that do not fit tightly to the disk, so the meat does not cut, but the sinews are wound on the knives. The knives can be sharpened with sandpaper on a flat table! But the large nut that holds the knives simply fell off during operation, photo attached. I am extremely upset and frustrated, because I know what a quality meat grinder should be like. And this is a parody of a meat grinder.
Didn't get past the first use kept clogging parts are extremely easy to lose, kept giving me a black liquid not even sure what that is. Specially, considering I washed it the sea clamp is not even long enough to get past any table, so good luck actually getting it to screw onto anything and staying. Don't waste your money buy something better.
Items made by plastic
This is a little chintzy thing I would recommend anybody it's really an example of the kind of products Walmart is caught carrying nowadays
It was very hard to grind small pieces of london broil. After washing all the little pieces, the metal inside pieces rusted right away after first use. Very cheaply made and I will not use again. I do not recommend highly.
If i could give this item 0 stars I would. It was a joke! More of a toy than anything that could really be used!
