They absolutely loved it! It works real well, the paper is perfect for his pencils and water color pencils. Nice sheets and not wimpy at all. Overall I love to draw and I likes the sketch pad as well. Nice size, but make sure you want a smooth pad. Not for charcoal drawings. Great for pencil, pens and makers. If you or your grandkids or kids like to draw, this is the best sketch pad. I highly recommend it .

The paper is textured, but also smooth. Pencil and crayon are great to use with this paper. Colors are pretty bold and true to color, especially markers. Since it's drawing paper, marker isn't ideal, but it's my daughters favorite to use. The colors bleed through, especially darker colors, but not nearly as much as I expected. Overall, it's a great option for kids and adults who love to draw.

its too soft. feels like its very thin paper

I needed exactly what I ordered and I ordered ahead of time to make sure. There shouldn't have been a need for substitution. If there were substitutions I should've gotten a text at least asking if that's alright. This was a Walmart fulfillment issue not a product problem.
