PENN Pursuit® IV Spinning Reel, 5000 Size Fishing Reel

This is a saltwater reel. Dependable. I got because it was on sale and I own a 4500 of the same model. The 4500 is smaller and can be used to play with the line- cast and reel frequently- and the 6000 is larger and heavier. That being said it holds a substantial amount of line, good for trolling. I slapped on 300 yards worth of 50lb braid. I actually managed to reel a 3-foot bonnet shark 15 feet in the air from a pier. The drag is smooth to adjust and tough on fish. I have no complaints and I don't have any rust on either of my pursuit reels. And I used them every week for like 3 months straight on Fridays on the jetty. The handle is comfortable and reeling action has smoothness. Used it on bass fishing one time.

great product at a great price . I bought these 4 on the suggestion of a friend I have not had a chance to use them yet . I spooled it with burkley 30 lb braid .

i use this reel on a crab snare rod, it is so powerdul it will pull a full snare in no problem. It has been very dependable, all i ever donis rinse the saltwater off after use.

The time is worth the value and made of solid construction and quality parts. When purchasing on item make sure to check the on-line price. This reel was $26 cheaper, but picked up at the store location.

Greater fishing reel to have for any occasion penn is a great brand with great products the smoothness of the reel gears are out of this world makes jigging artificial bait look like live action.

My husband received this as a Christmas gift and and is very satisfied with it. haven't had a chance to try it yet because of the weather. other than that he's happy

This reel is top tier, especially for the price. As someone who fishes but finally ventured out to buy my own equipment. After a lot of research, I landed on this one. It is SO smooth and efficient. I got a 40lb braided line which works perfect for it. It feels so much more premier than what it is for the price. I'm super pumped about it

I like this light weight reel. It's probably the perfect size for light inshore fishing or freshwater bass fishing. The drag is good too.

Only give a 4 stars because I have not got out on the water Yet, but first Impressions of Penn Pursuit 6000 reels smooth, well built, a lot Tighter Feel compared to other Brands, actually good bargain for the price, no doubt in my mind this will be great addition for my boat targeting Big Catfish!!!!!

Really like this reel but the price is just not justified buying separately. (buy this as a combo.) this reel is very versatile for fresh / salt water as well as many types of fish and fishing poles. Well worth buying this model, however buy as a combo to save the most. The reel is like nearly the price of the combo. Is fairly smooth and not super heavy. However not light by any means. it is rated for good drag and trusted Penn brand. Would recommend on a penn combo.
