Pennington Glass Red Hummingbird Feeder, 16 oz Nectar Capacity

I was excited to get this. I've always been partial to hummingbirds. They are so very beautiful, don't ask for much and are very quiet. Although I've seen them fight over a good nectar. I've always been a good cook <lol>. The price was right and I ordered one. Imagine my surprise when I got it that it was glass and not all plastic. It will make it easier to clean. Summer is looking up already

Hummingbirds readily eat while perched, and since the Pennington feeder's perch bar is closer to the feeding holes, the birds preferred it over the other brand I tried. Conversely, the alternate brand has both a wider perch gap and larger feeding ports, making it less appealing to your visitors. The birds seem to prefer smaller feeding ports.

It is the best hummingbird feeder I have ever had, and I've had many! But make your own nectar, do NOT use red dye nectar as it's not good for the birds and they can't tell the difference. 1 cup to 1/4 cup sugar, boil until sugar dissolves. Cool and then add to the feeder. Easy to clean and reassemble.

I like that this feeder prevents bugs from getting up inside the glass jar, but the base does not disassemble for cleaning. So any gunk/mold is really difficult to see and remove. The parts screw onto the glass jar easily, so that's good. I'd rather be able to see and clean the base thoroughly, otherwise I'd recommend this feeder.

If you're looking for a minimum of 16 oz in your feeder find a different one! I like an item that is true to what it says. I bought 2, when setting up I wanted to make sure it held 16 oz. It does not, so I mixed the nectar to 12oz of water each. I still had leftover. I just have a pet peeve if something says it holds 16 oz then I expect that. Not a big deal. I was disappointed. Oh well. It will work and its dishwasher safe on the top rack. I just have a pet peeve if something says it holds 16 oz then I expect that.

The first one I purchased works good so i got another one. That one does not work...the well goes dry and birds have nothing to eat. I returned the second one and got a third...this one also does not work. So I took the base off both and see that they are made different... causing the dry well issue. I am guessing the non-functioning feeder is an older design and the good working feeder is a new design that fixes the dry well issue. (New design photo included) I will be contacting Pennington tomorrow.

its nice that is glass n holds a good amount of nectar but the bottom plastic and flower holes are too small. ive seen hummingbirds trying to get to the nectar but holes are too small and hummingbirds not able to land n sip. no, do not recommend..wish i could changevthe bottom part!

HORRIBLE PACKING !!! :( 4 ITEMS :( 2 BREAKABLE ITEMS AND A LIQUID AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO PACKING MATERIAL !!! :( JUST LEFT TO FLOP AROUND IN THE BOX !! :(

The feeder has undersized holes, confusing nectar compartment. Had to modify the holes, drilled them bigger and trimmed off the down spouts below the flowers. To open main nectar flower compartment look for the small tabs and pry open. They do open to clean. But you would think Pennington would have better designers. If you do the modifications they are OK. I keep mine (4) and will see how they do after the modifications.

DO NOT SHOP WITH THIEVES !I placed a Walmart order on Walmart.com. in the amount of 307.07 to my address in Arkansas for the following morning. When I got up that morning it said my order was delivered but it was not at my door. Upon checking, Walmart system must have glitched which it hadn't done this in over a year and it reverted the address back to the last address I had used, which my mom had used to send my aunt a birthday present in Pennsylvania! This doesn't make sense to me because Walmart knows this is an ongoing problem and they have a fail-Safe in place. Where if you try to place an order that isn't near where your location is, a warning comes up asking you if you are sure that that is the address you want it to go to because it seems like you're a little far away, that did not happen. Sure that my address was selected before placing this order because this did happen to me a year ago. Granted it was only like three items but it got sent to my mom's work at the hospital. They promptly refunded me and told me they're aware of the problem back then.  Anyway, I contacted Walmart and spoke with them via chat and in fact I have one of the screenshots from that chat. Unfortunately wasn't smart enough to screenshot any of the rest of the chats because I was promised that I would never be charged for items I didn't receive and that the refund had to go in manually and I needed to wait up to 10 days. I also tried to put a stop on the $15 remaining item because it hadn't been delivered yet. They told me. No worries. You're going to be refunded. Just wait the 10 days. I then tonight received an email kind of generic stating that the order was delivered and that I could check it in the Walmart app and that no refund would be issued. I done had a conversation with Walmart course. This time they sang a different tune and disregarded anything I had been told previously and told me that there was no way for me to be refunded through them. Then I needed to dispute it with my card issuer even after learning that they are EBT funds and this is all the money that I have to feed my son and I for the entire month as a single mother! I also informed them that when I first received funds in January I had yet to use my card and the only place my card was on file was with Walmart.com and all of my funds had been stolen and used in Jersey. At that time I actually had correspondence with the Governor and there is a police report on that event. So this is now the second time that Walmart has stolen money from me. This is the second time my son is going to go without because of Walmart! There's no way for me to dispute and get my money back because it is not a debit card. It is government funds that Are designated for my son!! I don't see it is my fault that their system glitches, or the fact that I cannot dispute the charges and get this money back!
