Perky-Pet 3 lb Squirrel Stumper Wild Bird Feeder

This is the second Perky-Pet purchased, in less than a month. It's one of the best Squirrel deterrents ever and we have tried quite a few. Don't get me wrong, the squirrel is quite clever. He will definitely try his best but he can only manage a few morsels from the lowest feeder hole and then he moves on. We can consider it a small victory for our side!

Luckily, this is made extremely well!! Nothing flimsy about this beautiful bird feeder! Unfortunately, the first night I had this, raccoons climbed up the side of the wooden partition where it is hung and down it come!! It was really trashed.....full of mud and debris; and only because it is so tough, they did not break it. A miracle they did not drag it off somewhere! Another thing, I could not get the top off when it arrived to put the seed in, because somehow in shipping, it got a little damaged and the wires were bent. My roommate is really good at fixing anything, so he was able to re-bend the wires which was difficult, as they are really tough! All that being said; this is an awesome feeder!! I filled it with chickadee and song bird seed, and to my delight, I now have lots of little ones being taken care of. They are so excited and happy! If you love birds as much as I do, I would highly recommend this. Basic bird seed I throw on the ground in a large spot for the bigger birds. But to me, THIS is the feeder of choice for the tiny birds, who are not ground feeders. Have fun with this one!!

Great feeder that helps keep the squirrels from getting too much seed. I have it hanging on a shepherd's hook.

Simple to put the seed in and haven’t seen a squirrel yet. Looks like it will withstand the weather and I live in the northeast

In my experience, there is no such thing as a "squirrel-proof" bird feeder. The squirrels will eventually figure it out. So, with that in mind, this bird/squirrel feeder is quite satisfactory to me. We've had this feeder for a few years. The birds really like it. The squirrels really like it. They do a pretty good job of taking turns. So, I'm happy with it. My husband recently came home with a new "squirrel-proof" bird feeder (different design than this one). Since we got it, the birds have all but abandoned our yard. I'm assuming they're waiting for us to refill their old favorite feeder. It only took the squirrels a few days to figure out the new feeder. So, we will keep both feeders filled, and let them all take their pick.

I would recommend this item but my rating isn't great because I bought two and the welding gave way at the base of one of them and I lost a full load of seed. I took it back and got credit and have ordered a replacement AND will carefully check the bottom weld when the new one arrives.

The feeder is well built and arrived on time. However my squirrels didn’t understand that this was a squirrel BUSTER. Even though the squirrel buster was on a 5 foot wire slathered with Vaseline, I would still find them hanging upside down with hind feet on the top and munching on the seeds coming out of the bottom. Second reason for returning, my birds did not like the feeder....Would light on this feeder and immediately go to another style feeder I have. Had to return.

purchased to replace another different squirrel resistant feeder that birds used for years. Old feeder needed refill or top off daily. This feeder was filled 2 weeks ago and is still full. It appears to provide birds inadequate access. Some small birds have explored then quickly left. As best I can tell access to food is the problem. Very disappointing.

does not even slow down squirrels They jump from the ground up to the 6 foot tall shepherd's holder and go upside down and go to the bottom of the feeder where only birds are supposed to be the only ones that can feed there. They help themselves and spread much on the ground. They easily hold onto the cage. don't waste your money. Buy baffles instead.

[Employee of walmartcanada] We thought that we finally had a feeder that would deter squirrels! I totally agree with the 1st reviewer! I've had mine for over a year and should have returned it! The squirrels have eaten almost a whole container full in just 2 days! The birds, ie: cardinals, woodpeckers, blue jays etc. can't even get to the feeder because the squirrels hang on it with their back paws holding onto the top wire and stretch their bodies to get the seed from the port holes and the pieces on the lower tray!
