Perky-Pet 16 in. Transparent Squirrel Baffler

The baffler is working. The squirrels have given up trying to get the bird seed.

So far so good. It has kept the squirrels away from my finch feeder, so hoping this will work. The squirrels always seem to find a way to get into the feeder, so this may be the answer. The product is great, easy to assemble and looks nice.

The squirrel shield was very easy to install. After a few hours I saw two squirrels under the bird feeder obviously discussing my new shield. It's been three days and so far do good!

Setting up was easy, except that it took me hours to get the Locking Screws screwed into the holes on the Buffer Hub. It looks good and seems to be working.

I hung the squirrel baffler today and have high hopes that it will do its job well. The design looks good. But I worry about the flimsy looking plastic hooks. My feeder is just like the one in the image and it is a bit heavy. I hope that a jumping squirrel will not be too much and break the plastic hooks. It is hard to understand why such a well designed unit would use plastic instead of metal hooks just to save a penny. If the plastic holds, my comments are wrong and I would give a 5 star rating. If they break, I will be at my work bench figuring out how to install metal hooks.

The baffle is very sturdy. It came with metal hooks so I am sure squirrels cannot gnaw through anything. That said.......it does not keep squirrels off the suet feeder. Oh, it does exactly as described. The squirrel gets on it......the baffle easily tips down....the squirrel slides off.....and catches his feet on the feeder as he falls. EZ- PZ......enjoys his meal. I followed the directions exactly in case you are wondering.

I REALLY like this baffle BUT when I got it delivered it was Cracked and missing the pieces to attach it to the bird feeder pole. I think if it was Not Cracked and missing that piece it would be perfect. Very disappointed and will be returning back to Walmart.

I purchased this Perky-Pet transparent squirrel baffler to prevent squirrels from climbing up a metal pole that holds two bird feeders. This product has two design flaws: 1. The baffle is not slotted. Therefore unless you have a two-piece pole you will not be able to use this product. 2. The baffle hub is made of very cheap plastic. The locking screws are extremely difficult to install even when the screw holes were lubricated with oil. As I installed these screws the baffle hub cracked. The screws appear to be too large for the screw holes. The screw holes should have been threaded and should have matched the screws. Very disappointing.

We are very disappointed in the Baffle. Couldn't get the screws through the plastic holder. It's sitting in our garage. We are both elderly, but my husband is very strong and he couldn't put it together.
