PetSafe Gentle Leader Headcollar, No-Pull Dog Collar, Extra Large +130 Lb., Black

We bought these collars for both of our large bread dogs. We dreaded walking them because they basically were walking use and dragging us. Last night, we put the collars on and went for a walk. It was so much better. I told my husband I could not wait to write a review, but he told me to wait until we tried again. Tonight we walked them again. They are so well behaved. The walks are like night and day. I already told one of our friends about it. I will be telling others that are going through the same problem. We are so grateful for this remedy.

Bought this for our 5 month old pup because she pulled on the leash a lot and ate MANY random things on our walks. After putting this on she was like a new dog. She was able to walk next to me, did not try and eat as many things, and was easier to control if she did get into something she was not supposed to. It was tricky to get on her as a teething puppy but as she got used to it, it became the best thing ever!

The Gentle Leader had made walking with our ten month old Old English Sheepdog a pleasure rather than the torture it had been. Our puppy was constantly pulling on the leash. Even using the Wonder Harness, which our dog trainer had recommended, didn't help. The constant “yank and release“ instructions made the walking experience, which I had always looked forward to with every dog we had, a real downer. If your dog pulls on its leash, I urge you to use the Gentle Leader. Our vet made sure that the straps were properly fitted and gave me a five minute lesson using it. Walking our dog now is a treat!

Finally, I can now walk my beautiful rescue lab mix. At 115 lbs. he was just too much for me (125 lbs) to take out and he so wanted to go on my morning walks. I was a bit skeptical, but when I got the gentle leader collar on him there was no pulling at all. Thank you!

Our 3 year old (70 lbs) Australian Shepard is doing great using the Gentle Leader! He easily puts his nose through the loop to get a treat & even tips his head down so I can attach it behind his head/ears. He is so much easier to walk-no pulling me towards squirrels, birds, or other dogs. I am in full control of him. I will still distract him if he sees something he feels he needs to "herd", but am no longer afraid of being pulled over. I am much more confident outside now and take him to many more public places.

I finally enjoy walks w German shepherd. Not even prong collars would stop him from pulling . Crazy how a simple leash that goes around his snout totally changes that

I have a 55 lb puppy who was wearing a harness which allowed him to pull me like he was a sled dog. I removed the harness, but he still was able to pull very hard after squirrels and other dogs, even with just his neck collar. In desperation, I ordered a Gentle Leader. I got him used to it a few times with treats, over 1/2 an hour. The next morning, we headed off on our walk with the Gentle Leader. He tried to rub it off a few times, and after that, resigned himself to it. No more lunging after every squirrel. No more trying to drag me toward dogs he wanted to meet. He's walking like a perfect gentleman now, and I'm not in danger of having my arm pulled off. It has given him impulse control, which is fabulous. Highly recommend.

great product, would be better if there was a wider band option for XL breed dogs.

not easy to watch a video which is the only way to get the instructions while trying to put the nose ring on the dog to finding out the metal clamp wont work.

This thing is a piece of junk. It's snapped after 3 uses. We have bought others in the past that were fine for years this one not so much
