Cost effective upgrade

Carl December 12, 2025

I had been shopping for quite some time for tvs around $300. Glad I saw this one pop up as a suggestion on my feed. Most others in that price range had lackluster specs, but this one has 144hz refresh rate and 4k AI upscaling. I am generally a budget shopper and don't need the top of the line or newest and greatest. I was surprised how much better older things like Star Trek TNG episodes and Skyrim for the PS3 looked compared to my 2020 model TCL 4k tv. Now I might have to go out and buy a Switch 2 or PS5 just to see how good it gets!

I had to buy this TV because it was advertised as 4K 120Hz, and after having it for a few days this is a must buy for current-gen console owners who play without desk displays. As a Ps5 Pro owner it's actually perfect as the TV displays natively at 4k 60Hz but upon opening PS5 *game* applications, the TV will enable *Game Mode* which changes the display to 1080p 120Hz which is on par with what was advertised. Just make sure your HDMI chords are newer because I gave myself a scare thinking the HD ports on the TV were broken, when the issue was *my* HD chord.

good tv.

billy July 4, 2026

it's a good tv. but 1 you have to hold the assistant button to get the remote to connect to the tv, 2 the HDMI ports 2 and 3 are HDMI 2.1 ports with 120hz not just 3rd port. HDMI port 1 is 60hz. 3 when you go into the picture settings only the personal setting is changeable for color, hue, brightness, gamma, contrast. the other like filmmakers mode standered and more are not. and the 50 inch is the same way. I think.

If you plug in a game system into hdmi port 2 it will do 120 hz.

only buy if your willing to sacrifice image

threalone March 4, 2026

I really wanted to love this TV given the impressive specs, but the real-world performance has some significant drawbacks. The biggest issue is the light bleed. During dark scenes, blacks don't stay black; instead, you get noticeable grey splotches that ruin the immersion of movies or gaming. To make matters worse, the software is incredibly frustrating. I’ll spend time calibrating the picture settings to minimize the bleed, but the TV constantly reverts my settings back to default. Having to re-adjust the picture every time I sit down to watch something is a dealbreaker. Unless a firmware update fixes the memory issue, I’d be wary of this model

Flaws that can be overlooked for the right price

Noname March 7, 2026

I’m torn. For under $300, I can’t find its equal, but it’s not without flaws. The built in speakers are worse than the junk they put in televisions almost a decade ago, requiring external sound output. But that is laggy, even with optical, so it’s never going to be quite right and I keep getting audio jitters. No place I can find to adjust buffers. Viewing angles are kinda bad but straight on it looks nice. Picture is fine, HDR is bad. 144hz only available in 1080p. 60hz content in 4k is fluid, no ghosting. 144hz content is likewise good, no ghosting and motion clarity is excellent. Don’t pay more than $300 for this and don’t get it unless you’re replacing something much worse. You can probably do better. The UI isn’t very good, took me half a hour to figure out the dumb game mode interface hides useful things like choosing digital audio output. But you can run this entirely offline with minimal complaints from the television so this is good. The only enduring complaint is laggy audio for anything but the terrible built in speakers. They really are terrible.

Restricted without Google Account

anonymous June 24, 2026

It is possible to setup this tv without a google account but only in restricted mode. Many features are restricted which makes tv a pain to use, almost unusable. Considering the price and comparing to other tvs in the range it's 4 stars. Considering the non-Google restriction it's a 2 stars. Wish I could go back to dumb tvs.

Good TV picture looks good. there's 144 frames so I can do 120 frames on my Xbox series X and PlayStation 5 smooth UI. the problem is it has a little bit of light bleed on the corner. it's not that bad but once you know it's there it's hard not to look at it. I use LEDs in the back to mask it which helps a lot. that's the only problem with the TV. if it didn't have that light blade I'll give it a 5 out of five. everything else is good.

I bought this TV because it was at a good price—very affordable—but, well, it was defective. It arrived on a Monday; I used it for four days—perhaps 15 to 20 hours in total—and on Sunday it stopped working. It was a total disappointment. It was a manufacturing defect.

Wish it worked...

anonymous June 24, 2026

I was really excited to try this budget 144hz tv. It died an hour into me turning it on. Loaded up a game, experienced screen tearing and the tv froze. Power cycled and tried again but the tearing was worse. Tv shut off and it never turned back on. Picture quality was ok from what I experienced but didn't really get a chance to use it.
