I purchased this on Black Friday. Price was good. Picked it up on Saturday. Store was quite busy and the wait was longer than usual. But knowing that I was patient. The employee brought it out and loaded into my car. He was very nice and I expressed my appreciation for him. He was thankful. A great experience
I cannot get a Mesquite with this quality anywhere else but at Walmart. I grew up in Texas and love the smell and taste of Mesquite, and these grilling pellets remind me of being back home.
Best for true Texas BBQ flavor. I use it with all meats. Growing up in southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. Mesquite is a shrub and weed that we would clear and burn for firewood. Use that wood for open pit cooking lent the flavor to everything. Bird, beef, pork, fish were are cooked on this firewood. This brings this back those days and flavors.
About three-quarters of the way down the bag, the pellets turned into dust, wouldn't cook, and kept burning out. This caused my boyfriend to have a really bad migraine from the way it kept burning out, and I'm pretty sure it made the Pit Boss grill blow out once.
If these are lower quality than the more expensive ones I can't tell. smoke rings and fall off the bone ribs for less than the other guys Their spice line is good stuff too. Can't find mesquite trees where we live so this felt like a trip back home.
I am an old school bbq kinda cook, or atleast used to be. Just bought a pit boss pellet smoker and cooked on it for the first time and was nervous because of the amount of time and money it costs to make a brisket so i served up to my most harsh critics...a few close friends and my family. Everyone that ate said it was the best brisket i had ever cooked, and it had a better smoke ring than i ever got on my old school smoker. These pellets are top notch!
Pit Boss smoker and grills are a brand I trust. Their pellets always have a nice burn, smell, and leave a good smoke flavor. I use the mesquite for ribs, burgers, and briskets.
The pit boss Mesquite hardwood burns pretty good. It does smoke. People who really like a lot of smoke. This would be a good one. We go through the pellets pretty quickly, but that's because our Z grill takes a while to heat up and cook the meat thoroughly distributed across the hole great. I can't really smell a different fragrance for the Mesquite and the meat only has maybe a slight flavor I'm not even sure if it's from these hardwood chips pellets
New to the pellet smoker world, I'm not sure if these are any good or not. Yep, they burn and after testing several brands have found all of them burn pretty well. They just don't put out that much smoke/flavor that I'm accustomed to on a stick smoker. Much lower amount of ash than a charcoal briquet puts out, so easy to clean. I'll just have to get some "smoker tubes" for the flavor I'm looking for.
Not what I ordered. The picture and item description both state that the product is real mesquite pellets. What they sent me is mesquite BLEND with real wood FLAVOR.
