This is the second grate I have bought. First 5 years ago, lasted 3 years longer than my many other grate purchases. GHP needs to work on their online order process but evidently it got done. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is my second grate, my first eventually wore in the middle. My chimney guy told me too much ash built up below the grate causes extra wear. I shortened the legs on my first on but will not do so on this one.

This just arrived and wow are we impressed. Heavy duty, shipping was just as expected and it was packed very well. This looks like it will definitely outlast all the other grates we've purchased over the years.

I ordered this unit January 21, and received it January 26. Great service and Excellent product. This replaces lighter-weight grates with ember screens which continually sag in the center, with the ember screen burning away.

I received this product a week ago, just in time for winter. I've used it 3 times and the quality and durability is already holding better than most I've seen.

This item is heavy, strong, and built to last. The design allows for excellent air flow, and makes log placement easy. For the price, this item is a great purchase.

This is a well built and very heavy duty fireplace grate. It looks very sturdy, stands level without tetering, and should surely last a long time. When actually using the grate it appears to be too tall for practical fireplace use. It must have been designed for use with a gas-assist to fit under the grate. When using it for "wood only" the actual logs stand to high away from the coals-bed (under the grate) to keep the logs burning adequately. It requries one to constantly feed the coals-bed separately from the logs on the grate. Otherwise the logs just smolder or go out completely. Overall, it is very well built but I will cut the legs to lower the height of the grate to about 2-1/2" from the floor (similar the the height of my previous fire grate that worked well).

I burn a lot of wood in the winter. This grate lasted two seasons before finally starting to sag in the middle at the end of the second winter which is slightly better luck than I've had with other grates. Otherwise, it did fine. I'll probably get another one of these before next winter.

Purchased this grate due to the lifetime warranty claim. Lifetime does not cover the lifetime of the product. After five years the welds in my grate failed and are considered wear and tear. No sense in paying extra for this grate over what you can find at big box stores.
