Incredible quality and value, for winter storm Fern 2026 here in MS. Purchased this to keep our refrigerator and freezer contents safe and cold during the power outage and to charge phones and other electronic devices. Added oil, gas, cranked right up and went to work. Great insurance policy for less than $300! 1 gallon of gas lasts about 5 hours, FYI. Alternating refrigerator and freezer, 1 hour on, then off for 4-5 hour intervals. Perfect for getting by. Would make an exceptional generator for a small RV or for emergencies like this. 5 stars all day long!
Great little generator. Only prob I've found is with it on Eco mode you can't demand much from it. I thought it would automatically go out of Eco mode if it needed to produce more power (1000 watts)but it doesn't. It kinda goes into a pulse like it wants to but never does. I've just found a way around it and leave Eco mode off when I need more demand. So far so good I've put about 30-35 hrs on it so far to charge my ecoflow and run a grinder in remote area.. came in real handy after hurricane Helene and it sings like a bird. One pull and she's running. I changed oil 3 times so far ,more than break in recommend because real easy access which helps. I will likely upgrade the spark plug in near future to an E3 plug just because and see if burns even more efficient, I've upgraded plugs in prev gens to E3 and could tell a diff. . This gen uses about a gal in 4 hrs when working 1500 watts from what I can estimate . Great buy for around 300$ I rolled the dice and won on a budget.
PRO: Pretty quiet generator for backup power CON: You have to remove side cover to check oil. You are supposed to check oil before each use. Why did they eliminate the access door for the oil check?? Manual is very poor. No recommendations for break-in routine.
Generator was quiet, well built and easy to operate. Used it right away to charge my Ecoflow batteries when Solar charging is not feasible. A good back up to my back up. Running it 1800 watts straight for almost 3 hours , no problem. Was a good buy from Walmart .
I recently purchased the PowerSmart 2500W Portable Inverter Gas Generator at a great price and it runs great! It's important to read the operation manual. I then filled the engine up with oil, filled the gas tank, opened the 'air' valve on the gas cap to the ON position, turned the 'ON/OFF' switch to the CHOKE position, and pulled the starter cord. It started on the first pull-- easy peasy lemon squeezy. It's a great little machine NOTE: I read through other reviews prior to purchasing and it's clear that some people clearly do not read the operation manual. For those who write a review and say the generator starts and runs but shuts down after 15 minutes... Please know that if you open (turn on) the 'air' valve on top of the gas cap your problem will be solved.
I like this product and it is good for camping. Price is also reasonable
Awsome inverter generator
Even though it got lost and had to intervene, they worked it out for me and I finally got it. Happy to have it.
You can buy almost 4 PowerSmart Generators for the same price as 1 Honda generator. Perfect for overnight and daytime use during a power outage. Unless you need to run large equipment like a central AC, this generator will give you the power you need without wasting your fuel with a larger generator. My large generator 10Kw still has a place in our plan when there is an outage, but for most cases you don't need 10kw... which is just a waste of fuel. This will meet most light appliance needs during an outage and it only "sips" fuel. I am very happy with this purchase.
Lost power for 5.5 days. Previous time for 3 days just a few years ago. It works good but like other reviewers said, all generators with 80cc engine are the same. I use Mobil1 5w-30 and Autolite Iridium plug.
