Prang Colored Pencil Set, 12-Colors

This is an adults perspective. My mother bought me a set at least 15-20 yrs ago. It has sketch pencils included. A very nice hard case that can expand to stand up on its own. About 110 pieces all together. I was 100% that kid who wouldn't allow anyone to use my art supplies. Even through high school I had a pouch of pencils and pens specifically to lend out. Because I didn't care if they were given back or destroyed. Fast forward to now. I haven't had the time or motivation for coloring for several years. but recently got a new tattoo and I have time off work. Though color will be decided later, I wanted to play around with the design. For some reason I had a pack of like 70 pencils in a wide range of color and brought those out. Immediately they were packed away. Impossible to vary saturation or blend, dull color, not impressed. I pulled out my Prang set and remembered why Ive kept them for 20ish years. Unbelievably smooth, a single pencil can achieve countless shades depending on pressure. Durable (again, these are old), and for gradient color I'm not sure you could make it better. I've gotten into reviews lately and wanted to express my delight.

Great color, shading, and break-resistance. I was very surprised by quality of these pencils at this price especially.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pencils are just about the most fun thing ever! I gave them to my 6 year-old daughter as a birthday gift. She loves drawing and painting and this little kit is the best of both worlds. All you have to do is draw with the colored pencils, then get a bit of water and use the brush to blend out the colors. The result is a beautiful watercolored looking piece of art! My daughter and I both approve of this product!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Prang Watercolor Colored Pencils are a pretty neat set. I used them with my kids and we were amazed at how they transform your drawings. Colors just flow and make your drawings "pop". I really like these and I am definitely going to purchase a few sets to give as gifts. I think every kid and adult will really enjoy using the Pang Watercolor Colored Pencils.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: The colors are vivid and bright, the pencil glides smoothly on the paper, they don't break easily while coloring, they sharpen very well. Cons: I wish I had more colors of these colored pencils because they are wonderful to work with and use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids really enjoyed using these. They loved the ability to switch colors without switching pencils. The pigment is bright and doesn't require a lot of hard pressing to show up. A great starter set for little hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Twelve colors in the size of six, how can you go wrong. My kids like to color and draw in the car and having multiple colors per pencil makes that a lot easier. Less stuff to haul around and the same amount of colors to choose from!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The color wasn't as bright as I expected. It came across more as a watercolor. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase. The dual end concept is cool. And convienent, fewer sticks to keep track of and corral. These would not be a first choice art selection for me.
