I had this style chopper in the past and I was constantly tapping it on the counter to move the contents under the blade. This chopper fixes that problem with a sweeping arm that moves around the edge every time you drop the blades to chop. I tried it out with Garlic, which I don't like to cut by hand. The chopper did an excellent job of mincing up the garlic for me. The chopper is built well, but the one that could be improved is when washing in the dishwasher the handled fill with water, so I had to sit it out to dry.
This chopper is so easy to use it is definitely a must buy! I cook with peppers and onions multiple times a day so this has become a staple in my kitchen! The clean up is extremely easy also and yes I would most certainly recommend this to any and everyone!
Finally my life has been made so much easier when it comes to cooking. I hate cutting up vegetables and stuff and now I actually enjoy it because I know it will be done quickly. I do it mostly when I make vegetable soup or a roast. It's so easy to use too.
Is a nice chopper if you'd like to save some time chopping, is sturdy but small, you'll have to repeat process depending on how much food. The design is confortable, not hard to clean when you do right away and nothing gets stuck. Overall is great but may not be the best chopper for tiny cuts.
This is a decent hand chopper. Can use with or without the lid for the cup part. Washes up pretty good, just have to be careful when washing the blade part.( I hand wash it) you don't have to worry about what you're chopping getting stuck on the sides, it has a part that spins with the cup that keeps things off the side. Make sure to cut up harder veggies because it's harder to chop big pieces. Overall this is a pretty good hand chopper.
The people saying it doesn’t chop aren’t using enough force. You really have to pound the handle. Problem with that is the plastic holding the handle in the unit starts to bend and then it’s hard to keep the handle in the unit without it popping out. Mine lasted 6 months until I needed to replace it.
I'm sorry but with all the work this thing takes, I would rather just cut the vegetables up myself, it would be much faster, less time consuming, and less effort. This is because you still have to cut the vegetables into smaller pieces before using the chopper to cut them up and then you have to try and clean the device, which is nearly impossible without being able to take it apart. If you can't clean it well after each use, it's not worth anything.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this item was, ‘perfect for onions!'. Boy was I wrong. The blades seem sharp but for some reason when you try to chop onions some pieces turn to mush while some are left whole. I tried this with celery and it was worse. Nothing was chopped actually through. Just kind of cut halfway. I can see this working for soft fruits like banana and strawberries. Anyway, I would not recommend it it for anything except this two fruits.
Barely chopped nut pieces. Cannot take apart top to clean blades. The only thing good was the rotating sweeper. I lost my receipt so I'm putting it in the yard sale..
What a waste this was. I used this for one meal and threw it away. I first cut an onion into several pieces so I could place it in the chopper. It practically pulverized and masked the onion. I then cut a red pepper into multiple pieces and was able to chop one piece. On the second piece the chopper did not even break the skin. It took me triple the time to try to do what I had completed. The shopper went in the trash, never be used again.
