Presto® 12" Electric Skillet with Glass Cover

I love this skillet. This is my 2nd one. Its too hot and expensive to run my oven so I've taught myself to make/bake almost anything in here. From cookies, toast, anything breakfast, saimin , bbq chicken, spaghetti, etc. I have even perfected a thin, crispy crust square pizza made with fresh dough.

We are in the process of renovating our kitchen and bought a hot plate. That didn't work out well. I then remembered my father used to cook almost everything in his electric skillet so I started to look for one. This one stood out and is a godsend. Heats up quickly and cooks beautifully. Clean up is easy too. I think I will continue using this even when the kitchen is done.

Terrific machine/appliance. Reliable and dependable. And for those reviewers who complain about needing a Philips Screwdriver to secure the base, stop complaining. It’s not difficult. Not nearly as difficult as it is for so many parents who forget Christmas batteries for battery operated toy purchases blamed on Santa Claus. LOL This is my third machine and not a replacement: an addition for multiple residences. Best of all, eliminates the need for frying thermometers and such.

I have been wanting a electric skillet for some time, especially since I've seen the versatility of it in the store when they do food samples. This skillet is just the right size, deep enough to fry items, large enough and so easy to clean. The lid fits just right

I love this electric skillet. I've had it for a few years and it is still like new. I just bought one for my daughter. I don't put mine in the dishwasher, sometimes the soap is too harsh, so why take the chance. It cleans up so easy and even has a pour spout so you can drain the bacon grease out easier.

This skillet cooks evenly and has some nice features. But the first time I tried using it, frying chicken, I couldn't figure out why my chicken wasn't getting done in the middle even after my usual fry time. So I used my oil thermometer and found out that when I set the temp for 350 it stays at that temp until it has food in it. Yes weird. But even after 20 minutes with food in it the temp only got to 320 and stayed at a steady 320. So I had to set the cook temp higher in order to actually cook at 350. I don't know if I just got a faulty one or if this is the way the skillet is. The way the dial is marked it makes it hard to figure out exactly where you are setting it too. The temp dial also gets very hot! On the plus side, like I said it does cook evenly. And I love the pour spout. It makes it so much easier to dump the oil out. And it serves as a steam release. I used it to insert my oil thermometer to keep an eye on my chicken's frying temperature. The skillet is very attractive and was easy to assemble. You just have to attach the legs and the lid handle with a Phillips screwdriver. I've fried chicken several times, fried onion rings, and also made a taco casserole in this. Once I got the temperature figured out these turned out great.

Assembly required! Phillips head screwdriver required to attach handle on glass cover and to attach two leg handles on bottom of skillet. I haven't used the skillet to cook yet. Looks pretty good and looking forward to try.

It cooks really well! I just do not like the pour spout. If you have the cord on the right side and you go to open the lid with your left hand, you will get burned. I am not used to having a pour spout so I didn’t think to look out for the steam coming from it. I now have water blister on my arm. I do not recommend this for someone who doesn’t pay attention to that stuff and is a little clumsy. I do burn myself sometimes by just not paying attention but this is kinda different. They should have made it where the lid covers that as well. If a little kid was around and put their hand over it, that would be bad news. So, it makes good food, but the pour spout is NOT for me.

I bought this item 3 months ago for about 2 months it was fine then it started sticking where the heater element is located now every thing i cook that sets on the heater element sticks eggs,potatoes,bacon hamburger steak and anything with any sugar content

Bought for a wedding present and the box is severely damaged. I can’t give that as a wedding gift. I need a replacement delivered-how do I do an exchange without going to store. Extremely disappointed.
