Pretty thrilled with this skillet after its first use. Bought it after reading the reviews here saying how great it was--regardless of the price (which is a far better buy than some others I looked into). We've been making breakfast burritos in bulk and freezing them for easy snacks for the kids. Requires a lot of scrambled eggs . . . so I bought this hoping to cook up the eggs faster than I could in the biggest pan I had for the stove. Boy--were my expectations met. I easily scrambled 36 eggs in this skillet at one time. Probably could have cooked more easily. Non-stick surface seemed to work really well and cleanup was pretty easy. Heated up fast and cooked evenly. I'll have to see what other uses I can find for it--but it's perfect for what I was looking to do. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for this kind of product. Half tempted to buy another just to have around.
As a recent wheelchair-bound below-knee-amputee United States Navy veteran, I had to construct a lower than normal countertop(34") made from 2 Walmart glass top desks(28.5") and I use this electric skillet as one of 3 primary cooking utensils (one the others is the Presto Multi-cookpot-whatever [oil fryer/crockpot] which far surpasses any Crock-pot on the market with its fully adjustable thermostat, as well). The cooking variable temperature settings work fantastic. Enclosed within the packaging is a "must-have" for complete UTILITY of the skillet. It's a grilling rack for a mere $6 + 3.50 s/h, which is NOT available through Walmart. Get it. It adds versalitity. A++
I love it! It's definitely non stick. I cook bacon it and it comes out scrumptious! However, it can easily slide on the counter. I wish there was some sort of non-slip or gripping pads on the bottom of the plastic handles. Any way, it cooks very well, cleaning is awesome. It wipes clean easily. I love it!
This is my second Presto skillet. I love it, it really cooks and fries beautifully. I tried another popular brand name skillet that claimed to do everything presto does. Not true, in fact the teflon began chipping after a month of use. So, needless to say I am hooked on this presto 16 inch skillet. It is my primary small appliance. And the price is well worth it!!!!!!!
Yeah. I am a happy lady, I got my new Presto Electric Skillet today, they said it would be delivered it on the 4th and by golly it was here, so I love my new Skillet, it is just the right size, for 3 pieces of bacon. 2 eggs and a little pancake, all at once, I've already tried it out, I washed it, dried it and cooked with it, thank you Walmart. Now I am going to order a small and large skillet racks for it and a cookbook, Yes I am a happy lady!!!It's a 16 inch one. Just right!!@
I fried a large quantity of chicken pieces (15) and loved the way it fried. After breading the chicken, I placed it in small amount of oil that heated to 350 degrees, covered with lid and let the skillet do it's job. Turned chicken and finished cooking with lid on. The skillet is large and deep. Cooks very evenly. No mess with lid in place. I also love walmart.com since I can pick up at store without paying shipping. Prices can't be beat either.
I washed it by hand, then seasoned it with canola oil - just enough to wipe on the inside with a paper towel, then wipe completely with a fresh paper towel. I cooked sausage and egg breakfast burritos. The control was easy to use, the skillet heated evenly and was a breeze to clean up. I just wiped the dried egg and sausage out with a paper towel - the non-stick surface really works. The instructions say it's dishwasher safe but I believe the surface will last better with hand washing, so that's what I did. I ordered this 16" size thinking I would like this larger size because I cook a lot and for a lot of people - but I think I could have been fine with the smaller size. Bottom line - I love the skillet and would recommend it.
Best electric skillet out there. I finally got a new one, had the older model for years. I'm sure this one will perform as well or even better!
Works well, this size is perfect even if there's only two of you. Friends and teammates come over and 4-6 can start cooking/heating food at the same time reduces wait time. Coated pan makes for a easy clean up. Lids helps with cooking time, no spillovers, just wipe and go. Several grilled cheese sandwiches or Cubans or (2) quesadillas.
I have only used it a few times, but it works great. Temperature control is easy to read and it heats evenly and accurately. It keeps food warm without drying it out. The glass cover is nice. I have used an electric skillet for years and it finally went. I looked at a lot of different brands and this stood out. The reviews were good. The price was excellent. I checked out a few other stores and found it was selling for a lot more money. I would highly recommend this product.
