I have had 3 other deep fryers and this one is BY FAR THE BEST. It is made extremely well and is super easy to clean/ use. I clean my oil by putting cheese cloth around a bowl and dump the oil into the bowl and let it strain out. Then I put it back into the fryer and it is ready for next time. I do this every 4th time or so. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I have NOT used it for making a roast or stew YET though. I know I won't have to ever buy another one as it is made super well. It heats up quickly and keeps it's temp if you don't over crowd it.
So far this has been great. I have used it a few times already and it is definitely more than just deep fryer. My first use was to render about 4 pounds of hamburger from frozen be careful it started to brown at 250 and I had to turn it down for little while. I was thinking that if you needed an extra pan for making gravy during the holidays you could literally make everything from the stock to the gravy in this.
The best purchased I've made in years. You can cook anything in this and YOU control the temperature. I like the deep pan because you can cook bacon and not a drop of grease gets out. I've made my home made chicken soup in it, onion rings and next will try to bake. It's an awesome investment if you have a large family. I love the SAFETY feature of the magnetic connection that pulls away so easily.
I enjoy this pot a lot although made for frying I enjoy the use to cook soups in this as well because it reaches a rapid boil quickly due to fry settings. This is the 2nd of this specific pot for me. My first now goes with my husband to work and helps to make lunch. Amazing
Good size for making soups and stews for 4 (big portions). Had a similar one before for about 4 years, liked it but its inside got pitted, so got this one to replace. Dislike the 2-piece thermostat held together with magnets. Too easy to pull apart, so you might find the pot isn't heating anymore. Cord is a bit short, too. As for the basket, it looks like the same aluminum construction as the old basket, but that one got dulled by salt in the water when cooking noodles. Don't use oil for cooking, so no experience with using this as a deep fryer.
We haven't tried the deep fryer yet but we should soon. I will say that the products were delivered on the day scheduled but they were left beside my mailbox and I live on a county road. The cooker was in the manufacture's box so the contents were obvious. I was expecting it to be delivered to our house. It is fortunate I got to the package before it was picked up by a passer-by.
Bought this to fry fish and fries at my camp. Total waste of money. It wouldn’t get the oil hot enough. I’d put a couple of pieces in, after putting the oil on the highest setting and giving it more than plenty of time to reach temp. Anyone who cooks knows what it looks like when you place food into oil that isn’t hot enough to fry. It barely bubbled up and everything came out soggy. Wish I could return it but I had already gotten rid of the box. Total waste.
l never got to use it.They sent me a use one with a stripped strew. U couldn't get it out to put all the legs on,to even cook in it..They need to really inspect these item's they shipping out to the customers. That they getting returns on. It looks perfect to the workers.not even checking it.they just put in another box and ship it out to the next customer, who ordering the same fryer.plus, they say the Presto kettle is a bigger fryer. When i pulled it out the box it was smaller. l was so disappointed after waiting so long to get it. they were late delivering it to me.l was tracking it.was telling me,it was on its way to be delivered. past 8pm i still didnt receive it.call the next day to the store.it was still sitting to the store! l should've canceled the order right then.l still couldn't use it anyways.had to take it back to the store and get my money back.Hope the next person have better luck with there's than i did!
Item arrived with a damaged lid. Otherwise, it works. It has limited usability with no lid. The seller is not communicating as promised, and we don't recommend buying from them.
This was delivered today. Yes, I saw previous reviews that you had to assemble it. Easy enough to put the handles and legs on. The issues are it is aluminum that the exterior rubs off on your hands leaving them gray, that ridiculous short cord was bad enough but to have to connect it together with magnets??? The magnets do NOT hold it in place when you try to plug it together! Cooking is impossible! Why would this idea even be considered for an electrical cord? I fought the joke of a cord for quite a while thinking I was doing something wrong. Nope! It is totally useless without a cord to provide electricity! I have no place to plug it in with that short cord (even if the magets would hold it together) but under my cabinets where the popping grease will mess up the wood and wall! Yeah, the cord is allegedly for safety. Let people start being responsible for themselves and provide the necessary equipment to use your product. I am finished with Presto products that I have loved for so many years. I had also ordered a Presto electric skillet but thankfully it was out of stock! Please do NOT waste your money on this junk! I am returning it tomorrow!
