This product is significantly better than the as seen on TV product. First, both sides swivel allowing even easier placement of plugs. Second, the product offers a protection guaranty covering your electronics if damaged by this product. That is awesome and encouraging.
I wanted a quality surg protector with a clamping voltage of 400 V and at least 1,000 joule rating. Fits well in tight places like behind my washer and 120 V dryer to protect them. Good feature that plugs into one outlet with a grounded pin to go in the other outlet for stability. Now I have 6 protected outlets like having a surg strip
really great item, push all your cords to the side so you can keep your furniture close the wall, also great cause its a surge protector also,
Plug this into your electrical outlet and plug your tv's direct/dish modems, computers, pellet stoves, washing machine for great protection. Unlike the long strips, when you get a surge a component will blow stopping all electricity passing through to damage you9r electronic stuff. At 14 bucks each they are a lot cheaper to replace than your expensive tv or the control electronics in your washing machine. If you have a pellet stove did you know it has an electronic control board in it that costs over $100. This is almost a necessity for anything you want to protect from power surges, lightening strikes, etc.
Works great, it gave us about 3 inches more room than we had before.
Much better than the surge strips. It is easier to plug in cords on the side. If you have a heavy plug-in cord, start by plugging those at the bottom of the Trip Lite. It works great for me.
Great plug in. Protects electronics during electric storm well. Pro - I can rotate outlet so plug-ins face sideway and keeps the cord flush against the wall so it is not a tripping hazard. Con - Nothing securing it to the wall outlet, so animals can walk by and get tangled in component wire that is plugged in.....fixed that by rotating plug sideways....See Pro comment above.
Recently purchased, been using it for a couple of weeks then purchased another one. This great for households with careless people (men & children) I am constantly pulling furniture away from the walls because of the plugs but not anymore. I turned the sockets to the sides and the furniture can push up against it without cords bending and getting damaged. This one protects up to 1200 jules so I used it for minor things and a wall where a small number of things are plugged in so I still have two sockets open. I plan on purchasing others with higher (jules) protection for the tv, cable and video game areas.
Just plug in over any existing duplex receptacle and get protected. There are some wall mount protectors that require a screw to be fastened into the cover plate mounting hole to secure the unit better but this unit serves the purpose without any further assembly. If you rotate the receptacles towards the wall, plugs can be withdrawn sideways without pulling the unit off the wall. Place your thumb in the center just below the indicator light to prevent unseating the main mounting plug. It's best to keep the area around the outlet open to plain view so that the indicator lights are readily viewed at all times.
will never know how well it works until i have a power surge and need it
