Proven Winners Premium All Purpose Potting Soil 1.5 cu. ft.

This is a light airy mix. Great for container planting. I added a little perlite, pumice, horticultural charcoal, and lava rock in my mix to help my liquid feeds and for extra aeration. Great for indoors or outdoor plants.

Love this potting soil. I use it as my seed starting soil to start my seeds indoors and when plants are transferred to larger containers. I have no problems with gnats like with other potting soil. My plants did great using this soil last year and have ordered more for this year

It was available and could be shipped to my rural area, the quality is excellent. Have used last several years as it was available.

The best by far all around potting soil I have found. Lightweight with very very few particles of wood/stems. I have used a lot of different brands and I keep going back to Proven Winner. I use it to start seeds, and transplant seedlings to larger containers, as well as transplanting into larger containers. Other brands have too much wood, stems and other particles that make them difficult to work with when planting seeds or transferring seedlings. Proven Winner has been a Winer for me.

In 2024 I tried many different brands of potting soil to see if one was better than another. This brand is on the expensive side but well worth it. The soil smells good when you open the bag. It holds moisture well without becoming soggy. All my plants grew large and healthy in this soil - I only experimented on flowers not on edibles

I've been buying this potting mix for years after trying over 40 varieties. For the price, this potting mix is the best you can buy. It has the perfect mix of peat to other materials. I do recommend amending with 10-15% perlite for better drainage, but besides that, it's great potting mix and I wouldn't be without it.

Product was old and completely dried out should have been a little moist but it was very dry didn't use the product if you want it back I can send it back to you I'm not looking for any credit but I won't buy that product again it used to be a very reliable product.

I thought this brand would be free of gnats and I was wrong

Proven Winners potting soil is my preferred potting soil and I have never been disappointed with it, that is, until my most recent order. I don't know what was in this bag, but it was not the PW potting soil I'm used to. This bag had a weird cottony texture. I knew as soon as I picked it up because it was extremely light weight. I thought maybe it was just dry (a problem I have never had in the past), but no. I don't know if I got an end run or a weird batch but the texture of this stuff is horrible. Hopefully, my plants do ok in it. I will order again, though, in the hopes that this was just a fluke.
