I recommend this food for anyone concerned about their male cat and urinary health. I got it because I once had a cat with that problem and it is horrible for them, so now I feed only a high quality balanced dry food. My cat loves the taste of this and it is very filling and digestible I feed it every other day with the balance in canned food but every cat is different. He really likes the small evenly shaped pellets. It has a nice very mild smell and pours evenly. It is a good value for the price.
my male cat started crying and licking himself after litter box trips. after multiple vet visits, they suspected crystalization in his urine and recommended a food made for urinary support. after a few days of this food, totally turned around. happy cat and has been for years now. :)
Over the years, I've had a couple of male indoor cats that have had feline urinary tract issues and this was the food I turned to when Hills Rx food became too expensive. It worked just as well, so I've continued to buy it for them for many years.
Even though this is on the higher end cost wise, it is well worth it. I have 6 cats, and they love this food. Also with lower cost food, they would still have hairballs. This food helps control them and it is well worth the extra cost to have their digestive tract working properly.
My cats seem to enjoy this kibble - especially the fact that the kibble is small %26 uniform. Only 1 xar needs it, but all 3 get fed it, just to keep things simpler for me. It's a bit more xexpensive than the main urinary tract dry cat food I use - but still affordable enough to give my kitties some variety.
This is a good product for my senior long-hair, indoor cat. When looking at senior health needs I determined that prioritizing her urinary health was an additional way to maintain her comfort and longevity. Especially as a cat that uses a litter box. Like most cats she is very picky - I assumed I would have to do some coaxing to switch her food but she took to this right away! She loves it.
We needed to get Urinary tract food for our cat and we started getting this several years ago. The cat likes it, always gobbles it down. We give him a few treats every day too. He has had no urinary or kidney problems since we started giving it to him two or three years ago. It's also not especially expensive. we usually get it in the store, but there were a few other Items I wanted to get so we bundled them together and got the free delivery.
After our male cat had continuous uti issues and thousands of dollars in vet bills... Due to a curved bladder causing crystals in his urinary tract.. We were told he'd have to eat an expensive dry food for the rest of his life ($100 a bag). After a year of this and seeing another vet looking for a surgery option to stop the high food cost. Another vet recommended this saying that it was the same thing. He's never had an issue since and we're saving so much and he loves it. He gets this and once in awhile a can of only "pate" soft food. No carbs
My cat was having stress and peeing blood outside his litter box. The vet recommended a higher cost urinary tract food, but we tried this first. It took about three weeks for him to stop peeing blood and to totally stop peeing outside the litter box. We also used more litter boxes and started using a pheromone.
My Cricket has FIC (cystic bladder) and had been having trouble emptying her bladder only going a little with each of her countless trips to the box and in my tub. I have eliminated some stresses for her since she's in a multi-cat house by allowing only her in my room at night and feeding her this on a separate schedule. Her trips to the box are much more productive after a couple weeks of this food, which is such a relief for her, and for me to see she's not so terribly uncomfortable. She still has flare ups, so while it seems to have definitely helped, it hasn't totally resolved anything.
