Henry - our 14 month GoldenDoodle was previously on the "regular"Pro Plan Salmon and Rice. He seems to like this formula much more and his previous tendency to loose stools disappeared. Since he runs a lot this seems like abetter choice for him anyway.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I feed this food to my Labrador Retriever puppies from their first solid food meal and on. I prefer the salmon and rice and the dogs have had no issues with it at all. I also have a very active older lab, that competes in a bunch of performance events including CKC hunt tests and working certificates, who has been on the 30/20 salmon & rice since her first solid meal. She needs the higher protein & the higher calorie value for all she does. The dogs coats are amazing and shine nicely. With the pups on the food, as they get older, some of them transition to the large breed sensitive skin & stomach salmon & rice formula so that they do not become overweight.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been feeding this food to my an active retrievers for many years. I show them in conformation and they run in retriever tests. They gave great coats and good body condition. I have never had a picky eater or digestive problems with the salmon and rice. I give it to my young dogs and well as my older ones.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My boy has always been his best on proplan. I've tried other smaller brands and other popular "health" brands, but this is the only one where he keeps a healthy weight, manages his skin allergies, and has energy all dang day. This is the food I will feed him for his entire life if I can.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) As a breeder for many years, and owner of many dogs, they are all raised from weaning to end of life on salmon 30 20. Every dog is in show conditions at all times, besides blowing coat times. And we have raised many champions on this food with very very little skin issues ever coming up. Stool is generally very good as well.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) After trying every type of food including pricey vet prescribed we were recommended this food from a GSP (German shorthair pointer) breeder that said one of her dogs had allergies and removing chicken from their diet really works. After some research we found Purina pro plan for sporting breeds and it ticks all the boxes AND allergies are dramatically reduced. Also half the price of the previous brand we were using. Now we have more money for treats! Win win.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We have 5 dogs so to find a food that worked for all of them was very difficult. We live on a farm and have 1 heeler, 2 heeler crosses, and 2 corgis. They are all very active and sometimes keeping weight on was difficult and required use to feed more than the recommended amount. To top it off one of our dog can be quite itchy depending on the food. So for the longest time we were having to buy the itchy dog expensive hypo food and then other food for the others. I was able to get this diet through work and liked the fact that it was a performance diet meant for active dogs. Then because of the salmon & rice option we decided to try the itchy dog on it and were so pleased/relieved when it didn't cause him to have any flare ups. Our dogs have been on this diet for several years and they all love it!
After trying the chicken %26 rice, beef %26 bison, turkey, duck %26 quail (of Pro Plan Sport Performance with varying degrees of success), purchased the salmon %26 rice. My 3 year old sheltie enjoys this the most.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a great option for all ages. Fully balanced, AAFCO approved. Very palatable as all my dogs even my fussier ones enjoy it.
My dog doesn't like this dog food. She barely eats it and she is a ferocious eater. She normally devours her food and with this she just picks at it. I ended up giving it away and I went back to her other foods. The kibble is smaller that some and very tight. It has almost no crumbs in the bag, thus you get food rather than waste.
